My wife and I have been married …
My wife and I have been married for 4 years and through invetro, we have new born twins at home. I need someone to …
Just a quick update.
I spoke to my supervisor about the whole mess. She suggested I confront this woman and have her put her complaints in writing so that I could address each individually. Some may be related to my illness and some may be related to her not understanding what I am doing in my treatment of kids. She also suggested I get the FMLA paperwork filled so she can protect me with my absences and I can take the days I need. She was very supportive of my priorities changing right now and my health and my babies coming first.
Yesterday I finally broke down and called a nurse again. I had called the REs on Friday who said m/s was normal and if I was still concerned to call my PCP/OB. I decided it was part of my life right now and to suck it up. Besides, I don't even have an appointment with my OB until 11/2 and my PCP's office sucks.
Well I just felt so terrible all weekend and then Monday I broke down and called the OB's office. After hearing my symptoms they sent me to the ER to get fluids. I was pretty darn dehydrated. We didn't get to see the babies because I wasn't bleeding. Now I will have to work extra hard to stay hydrated. I have Pedialite, Gator Aide and a variety of freezer pops with electrolytes.
The nurse also suggested something I had never heard of for the morning sickness. She said to try a cocktail of B6 and Unisom. I thought that was very odd and when I bought the Unisom there was a pregnancy message to consult your doctor, so I called back to check again. But apparently it was originally developed to help with nausea in pregnancy but since it made people so sleepy they marketed it as a sleep aid. I read a bunch on line and most people said it takes a few days to get fully effective. I tried it last night and I woke up several times, but not sick. I am mildly nauseous this morning, but so much less than past days.
Well, I have super busy day at work today and wish I could just stay in bed and sleep, enjoying a day where I don't feel like I have a flu and motion sickness at the same time, but...
Hugs and many thanks for all of the kindness and support!

Today is December 6th and i am starting to get depressed about the upcomming hoiday. Christmas use to be my favorite …
Aaawww, I am sorry that you are feeling so miserable. I know it's for a good reason, but it still stinks! You did the right thing by calling. I know I feel like a pain in the rear b/c I'm constantly calling my OB's office, but the nurse is soooo super-nice and told me that she'd rather have me call 10 times about something that is relatively minor, than have me not call 1 time about something major.
I also heard about Unisom - in fact, it was on a list of "approved" pregnancy OTC meds that my RE's office gave me. I hope it works for you! And, it's great that you spoke to your supervisor about the situation with your co-worker. It absolutely needs to be addressed, and I hope things work out for you.
Feel better...I'll be thinking of you!

Awww!! m/s is the worst - although I didn’t actually throw up the dry heaving was enough.
A lot of the preggie pops are actually Vitamin B, it is supposed to help but I couldn’t even smell those things in the beginning. For hydration try eating ice, for me it was better than just chugging down liquids, and I would put just a bit of ginger ale or sprite to flavor it (and to get some of my sugar levels back). What also seemed to help me, were low-sugar fruit cups (peaches mostly), which I would keep in the fridge at work and home and have every few hours.
When you get to your OB-GYN ask them to prescribe Zofran, that was the only thing that really-really made me stop dry heaving. I wonder if the RE can prescribe it? It would really help, because another two weeks of this before your appointment is going to be crazy!

I'm glad you have the support of your own supervisor.
M/S is so bad, I'm just entering the really bad stage and just took Zofran last night for the first time. Like a dummy, I was so desperate for relief I just popped the pill in my mouth w/o reading the bottle and of course the bottle says "DO NOT SWALLOW" Anyway, it still helped a bit, I only dry heaved a few times last night. I took it this morning before getting out of bed and am doing a lot better today. I have also heard of the b6 unisom combo and may have to try that at night. I'm so tired during the day that I would be scared to add unisom to the mix. Congrats again!!

I am so glad you are doing better. That is probably a wise thing to fill out the FMLA paper work to have your self protected. I am thinking of you and praying for you and the babies. xoxo

A friend of mine had some advice that she said worked wonders for her when she had morning sickness. She suggested ginger Altoids because ginger is supposed to help settle the stomach. She also suggested lemon heads candy or other sour candy because your stomach, I guess, can't be nauseous when your mouth is puckering,
I have no idea if these would work, but its worth the try. Hope you feel better soon and I'm glad to here your supervisor is so supportive.
