My wife and I have been married for 4 years and through invetro, we have new born twins at home. I need someone to …
I had the 3 hour glucose tolerance test a week ago - ugg! My arms make me look like a junkie - 4 blood draws in 3 hours! Was not a fun test and I flunked it. My first two blood draws were fine but the last 2 were slightly elevated. They called me with the results on Monday and said that I would need to go on a special diet and exercise program. I'll find out the details this afternoon at my OB appointment. I really hope I don't have to do the finger sticks as I fainted in H.S. when we pricked our finger to determine our blood type in biology class and also when I got my ears pierced. I know, I know, I can do infertility shots fine, but one look at blood and I'm gone (I have to look away when I have my blood drawn).
I am still 15 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant and having trouble with shortness of breath. DH and I went to the AZ Cardinals game last Sunday and I was so winded walking from the parking lot to the stadium, I felt like an 80 year old woman w/ emphasema (sp?)!
My baby shower is this Sunday - seems so strange to say "My baby shower", after all these years of going to so many of them for other people, I never thought one would be thrown in my honor. I've been told there about 40 RSVP's - way larger than I thought it would be! I'm very much looking forward to it! It will be held in the rec center of the subdivision where my Mother In Law lives so there will be plenty of room. I'm actually doing something very out of character for me today, before my OB appointment I'm going to get a manicure and pedicure - I never get those! I figured if I'm going to see 40 people on Sunday- I'd better look my best! I know they won't see my pedicure as I'll be wearing a sweater dress and boots, but my feet are so swollen and I thought they could use a little tlc. I'm having a hard time fitting into some of my shoes now. I hope that my feet are just swollen and will go back to their normal size and not permanently larger due to ligament stretching becuase then I'll have to buy all new shoes and as fun as that sounds, I really like the shoes I have and it would be impossible to find new ones that are identical!
Baby girl kicks all the time now and it is awesome that DH can feel her too. I should have her in my arms in about 10 weeks - wow it seems so soon after going through all I have with TTC and infertility treatment after infertility treatment for over 6 years!

I hated that 3 hour glucose test. I too looked like a junky. No fun at all....
Have fun at your shower. It's nice to be pampered. I'm with you on the feet. If mine don't stop expanding soon I'm going to be wearing my bunny slippers to the office because I can't fit into anything. Can't wait to hear about the shower...

Ah, I'm sorry about the glucose test results too. What does your OB want you to do? 15 lbs is great for almost 28 weeks. I think I was up 27 lbs in my visit last week and that's getting to be really difficult.
How was your shower? Hope it went well!!!!

Sorry about your test. I failed one of four, so i am still trying to control my diet. I think Halloween and my oreo treats got the best of me. Was your shower fun??
