I am a middle-aged (gack!) computer professional. Personally, I have anxiety issues (social anxiety mostly), which are fairly well under control. Recently, my wife of 18 years was diagnosed with Bipolar 2. My wife was just diagnosed with Bipolar II (2?), discovered this site, and sent it on to me. So here I am. We are currently working through getting her back on a even keel, so all support will be appreciated.
I have always been considered "shy" but deep down inside my shyness was really caused by social anxiety. Growing up, avoidance worked pretty well for me when the anxiety became too severe, but two years ago the anxiety became unbearable which led to a pretty deep depression. Paxil has helped immensely with both the anxiety and depression.
As a teenager and into my 20's, I experienced true Migraine headaches. Then I seemed to "grow out of them" and stopped having Migraines altogether. However, four years ago I started having Ophthalmologic Migraines - Aura and loss of vision mostly without pain, but sometimes aura leading to a full blown Migraine.
