I have been married for 5 years, my husband has been diagnosed with stg 4 cancer. It has been a difficult time for both of us. I am the primary caregiver. This makes you appreciate life when you are faced with something like this.

Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IV (M1)I am in here to get as much info as possible and of coarse support. I am a caregiver (wife)for my husband who has breast cancer stg.4. This reoccurred after 8 years. He had a masectomy and his lymphnodes removed left side. Since then it has been in his lung, shoulder, hips and most recently in the bone and suspicious activity in his liver.He has good days and bad days. It is very hard to have watched this handsome, well built man reduced to what he is now. I am afraid of what lies ahead.
Treatments
- Abraxane Somewhat Helpful
- Was on this in the beginning.Helped for a short while. Feet bothered him.
- Chemotherapy Not Working
- taking a Chemo break now. Cancer markers went steadily down. Terrible sick, nausea, diaherea,skin peeled,nails were coming off.Sleeps all the time. Cancer markers started back up even before the Chemo break.
- Herceptin Somewhat Helpful
- fingers and feet problems, worked for a while
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- believe or not, he was out of the hopital the next day. It was Christmas eve day and he was determined to spend it with family.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- this was for pain management only. Burns to the skin
- Surgery Working / Worked
- This worked for 8 years, then it reoccurred in lung and spine.
- Taxol Working / Worked
- worked for a time
- Xeloda Not Working
- This gave him dead jaw syndrom, never would reccomend.Horrible Pain, deteriated jaw, lost teeth and bone loss. Jaw area is an open wound and cannot be closed.
- 5-FU Working / Worked
- this was used with the Tykerb. Although it was a fluke that it had been used, it did work with it.5 tbs a day
