I realized yesterday as I sat at my daughters preschool year-end celebration that it was two years ago when Doug Hirsch, our DS founder, approached me while i was sitting in a tiny plastic chair. He was working on an idea....it was a website that was going to be online support groups for medical conditions....it didnt have a name yet.
Cut to two years later...Im writing another blog and sending some hugs today. I cant believe what this site has become and really what it means to me. On a personal level it has added to my life in ways I didnt think I had room for...you see I already LOVED my job, my life was great...but DS has added another dimension and expanded my life in some very cool ways.
So Doug...Cheers to two years!

Congrats to you and Doug. Due to the website I got through the recovery period after my Brain surgery for Epilepsy very well. I was so touched by this that I decided to start up an Epilepsy Surgery Group on the site as nobody else had set one up.

It's nice to know and find other people with the same problems I have, even the ones dealing with my children's behavior/habits, etc. I'm only 23 and I have had a lot of health issues that most doctors dont see everyday in someone so young. I am known at the hospital. LOL. Thank you again

Thank you Doug and all the staff. My longtime, close friend told me about this site.
She had a double whammy in her life and had found you. Her husband was bi polar and had collapsed. He was commited for some time. At the same time she had uncurable cancer thru out her body. She died in April of this year. We had been long time- 54 years, close friends. WHen she heard of my husbands betrayal to me, married 46 years, and completely devasated, she refered me to this site. In addition to counseling, I am finding this site to be of extreme value and many of us are going thru the same thing. I am not weird about stuff at all;.

two years is all? i've been on here one year and didn't even know it was new. so when exactly is ds's birthday? i love ds. its the only chat place that i use regularly. before ds i almost never went on line at all.

Thank you and the founders for your gift of this site. I joined this site as part of a requirement for a surgery. I had to print off 2 participation's on related topics.
Well, I didn't want to, but I thought "Well just do it and be done with it". Now here I am, sure that I'll never be done with it! It has added a new dimension to my life in so many ways.
