Well, slowly the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. This has been a long, miserable 2 years. After some additional bloodwork/labs my new doctor has found I have hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is an autoimune disease in which my T-Cells are attacking my thyroid. She now is very curious and highly suspects that I may have Addison's disease as well, as this is also an autoimmune disease only the body attacks the cortex of the adrenal glands. My endo appointment isn't until January 2nd. She has already doubled my T3 thyroid medication, but wants to wait on raising the cortisol until after we find out what the endo appointment finds. I have a very strong suspision that I need quite a bit more cortisol before I will start feeling better so I am anxious to get this ball rolling with the endocrinologist. I did find out that my aldosterone levels went up from '2' to '15' which is good. I was on fludricortisone for about 3 months which I think is what helped that. I still crave salt like nobody's business! So, I will give an update on this after my endo appointment. My back pain, fatigue has really flared up lately. Can't wait to get balancing these things out!

I know what it's like waiting to find out what's wrong with you. I was first diagnosed in 1997 and the Dr. had a hard time finding out what was wrong with me. (It took him 3mos.) That said; I'm giving you my support and encouragement and hope that your Dr. is able to finnaly find a diagnoses and start treating you!!!! Stay strong.
