I am a single dad raising a great and wondeful daughter. Her mom lives 800 miles away so it's just me and her. She has been such a big inspiration for me. She understands when I can't do the things I normally do and is always walking around the house saying that I am getting better. I love her to death!!!

Like most, I have no idea how I got this illness. I had a blood transfusion in 1982. I also served as a Medical Response Technician at one of my jobs. I was tested in 2004 and it wasn't detected. Fortunately the doc tested me again in early 2007 and it was found. Hep C Genotype 1a. I opted to go right into treatment since the doc said that the liver biopsy wouldn't determine weather to treat or not. I am in my 14th week of treatment and truly hope to defeat the BEAST!!!!
Treatments
- Pegylated Interferon Working / Worked
- I had my 12 week test today. My Viral Load is undectable. Side effects are pretty much fatigue, irratible, and some insomnia. I did go through some sever depression but that was more related to personal issues. The doc has me on Xanax for the anxioety issues. I take regular slepping pills at night and get about 4 good hours of sleep.
- Ribavarin Working / Worked
- Xanax Working / Worked
- A couple weeks into treatment I noticed that I would get very agitated easily. The doc prescribed this to take when I could feel it coming on. It has helped tremendously.
