Yup, sounds like you did exactly what we're doing. I can tell when Jonah's just "whining" and will settle himself back down on his own and when he's crying hard and wants to eat. Our nap routine is pretty good, although we have some days that throw everything off. I'm just going to keep sticking to it and hopefully he'll make that transition on his own soon!!! How are you feeling?
It sounds like Eliza just started napping longer on her own, but did you end up doing anything to encourage longer naps? I know some of the books recommend letting them "cry it out" until they go back to sleep, but that's just never felt right to me. I've heard some kids are just "cat nappers" and eventually they start to lengthen them on their own...at least that's what I keep hoping Jonah will do!! He sleeps great at night, too (at least I think it's good)...about 11 or 12 hours total with one quick feeding after 8 or 9 hours. Do you remember what Eliza was doing at night at around 7 months?
