Ok here is the big update…I don’t see my endo for another 2 weeks but I have my lab results back because I request them….My blood work came back..it all looks good to me… my igf-1 is within the normal range. First time since my surgery (10/2007) The only thing that was a little low was my calcium..it was low by .2 not a big deal.
I had my MRI. I got a copy of the disk but I have not looked at it… .the doctors have not called me so I am guessing that means its no big deal because bad news travels fast…also since my IGF-1 dipped into the normal range I’m guessing that means that there is no residual tumor!!!
I am exhausted it is hard to get going in the morning. once I do.
Despite my headaches and other body aches I feel as if I am functional.
But by about 3ish I hit that wall and really don’t have much energy left
Today I went to see my gyno… I really like her (I am lucky, I think, cause I have 3 docs that really listen to me) anyway she listened to all my symptoms and order a C4125 blood test (ovarian cancer) and she order a pelvic and abdominal CT with and with out contrast… she wants to check out my gall bladder as well. (Mind you I only took about 3 weeks worth of Octreotide and have not been on any others meds for Acro yet) She also wants me to ask my endo about Thyroid antibodies.
We found a weird lump on my arm although it could be fat…anyway I have a family history of breast/cervical and ovarian cancer (Aunts & Grand ma’s) so I think she is being careful..she also was very supportive and gave me some tips mostly encouragement to count calories again..I know that works so here I go…as I suspected last year I gained 20 pounds…this is truly my biggest concern…I am exercising so she was happy about that…I need to write down everything I eat that is the only way to do it…so here I go…

Good news on your Acro labwork!! I hope the results from all the other lab results come back as you being healthy & disease free!! Most of my energy came back about 2-3 weeks after I started on the thyroid hormones. I still get tired in the afternoons but not like before when I had noooooothing.....I hope all is well and you continue to get good news...Keep us posted!

Wow La Počte, this post has been here for several weeks and I'm just seeing it for the first time. I don't know how that happens because it used to be easier to keep track of each other. What AWESOME news. It's cool to have those docs who will listen to you and work with you as well. I just know you are going to get things going and get those 20 pounds off, too. It should be easier to go walking in your beloved nature in the next few weeks as the weather starts getting nicer. Then we can start enjoying some more of your inspired writing........ ;-)

I took my dog out on the first "Spring" walk today because I was feeling so good. It was still cold and brisk, but I felt better just knowing I was outdoors and part of the natural out there...It does the soul good to connect with it...I can't wait until I can see the green breaking through the browns and grays and smell the sweet perfumes of spring blossoms! How about you?
I thought about you and your new picture while I was communing with the out doors today...I can't wait to feel the warm earth beneath my nails!! Just the thought of it brightens my mood.
