    • About Me

I am a 58 year old female living with my 59 year old vietnam vet who was diagnosed 10 years ago with ptsd related to his war experiences and 7 years ago was diagnosed with dementia. I am researching whether there is a link between the 2 diseases. Does anyone out there have similiar experiences or know of any reference materials regarding this?

I am the wife of a Vietnam Vet who suffers from PTSD. I am no dr but it sure sounds like you need all the help and support the VA Medical system can offer. Go there. You can not "wish" this better. Tou need intervention by qualified medical people. Wish you well and please note that we are here to support you. Good luck.

    • Close Alzheimer's Disease
      Stage: Advanced

My husband of 33 years was diagnosed 6 years ago with alzheimers at age 53. He had early onset dementia that has progressed to a severe state now. I am his only caregiver and we are together 24/7. So far I'm ok with this ( what choice do I have?) but I do understand others going thru similiar circumstances. Would like to hear from members with young spouses with dementia. The problems are different.
