Today is a great day, Woke up with 5 out of 10 in pain scale which is a bonus. After a coffee and my meds felt great.

Love outdoors reading crystals @ music.Battling pain,meds,fatigue @ limited movement.Am single,live alone.Belief life is precious @ try to make the most of it.Have 2 kids,wonderful humans so am blessed. Some days are tough.

Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IV (M1)Stage 4 Lobular Tumor, fought drs for 12months as i knew something was wrong. needle biopsys all neg.Finally saw a plastic surgeon and asked him to remove breast. he helped me get to a surgeon. Radical mastectomy followed.Chemo, radiotherapy the lot. Had 15 1/2yrs remission and lived my life to fullest. Diagnosed advanced bone metastases Aug 2006.very few symptoms just a feeling something was wrong. PLEASE listen to your instincts.They are usually right.
Treatments
- Chemotherapy Working / Worked
- 1st 6 treatments in 91. Was in remission for 15 1/2yrs. 2cd time Aug 06 seven treatments for advanced bone metastases.Developed deep vein thrombosis in 2cd month.Needle per day for 6 months and thats all fine now. Low dose aspirin daily now.Slowed down the rate of tumor growth andlowered protein counts. Best thats possible for me.
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- Radical mastectomy in 1991.16 out of 18 lymph nodes affected .Stage 4 lobular tumor. Was in remission for 15 1/2 yrs. Am lucky.
- Premarin Working / Worked
- Currently taking. Keeping cancer slowing down. Night sweats,weight gain,insomnia,but hey all drugs have side effects.All in all not 2 bad.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- 1st time 6 weeks,daily.hard yakka, burnt badly and was exhausted. 2cd time only individual doses for pain control mainly in arms.
- Reconstructive Surgery Working / Worked
- Reconstruction with a chest expander over a 6 month period Then saline inplant. was happy with results.Implant broke down 10 yrs later(within a 5 day period)causinginfection leakage and necrosis.I thought I had the flu at first Nearly died.was removed and a muscle transplant was necessary from my back as I had no muscle left in chest.
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Right arm shattered while steering car. Arm rodded to stabilise.restricted arm movements and pain
