Hi, I just had my left eye done Apr. 3rd. with a near vision lens implanted. In Nov. 2007 I had the right eye implanted with a far sighted lens. I most cases, your brain does get used to the "monovision". I have always been nearsighted all my life and I just love being able to see far now. The recent surgery, my doctor set the near vision to 20" or so, because I told him I am on the computer quite a bit with job and home. I have lost the ability to look very close, which I was used to prior to surgery. But there has only been a few times I needed to look close and used a magnifying glass at work. I might buy some store-bought reading glasses to help me with the very near. But I basically love being glasses free.

Close Cataracts
I just had cataract surgery in the right eye and it is great because everything looks crisp and clear but I still need glases to see near. The doctor just told me he will implant a lense for upclose only in my left eye in one month and my eyes will get use to switching for far and close but I am concern about thatl. Has any body heard or know some one with that kind of implants? is it true that you get use to it and do not notice the switch?
