I have not written in my journal for a while. So I decided to give a quick shout out. In the last couple of months I've met a number of great new people here on daily strength. A few of them have really managed to touch my heart. You know who you are.
It saddens me a little the number of young people who I've met who have contracted the same debilitating disease I have. Even though I am a long-term survivor. I feel helpless because I have no great advice for them on how to cope with this disease. It's just like life. You have to deal with it one day at a time . All I can say is keep dreaming and keep hope alive. Stay close with those who love you and try not to think about your situation all the time as it leads to deep depression and anxiety. Thus messing with your mental attitude. Stay clean and stay well. My heart goes out to you all,Your friend, Rodney

wow..you have a very beautiful soul...and you are so right about a lot of young people contracting it.i met 2 young women in my homegroup and they are very encouraging and inspiring unfortunately one of them recently relapsed and isnt taking her meds or anything.its tragic..i think we must make the most out of life no matter how time we have in it..

Nice to hear from you Rodney and to know that you are doing fine. I agree with you that it's difficult to give advice to someone who is newly diagnosed. For me personally I have not felt (I mean physically) any different since I was diagnosed. It's 3 years now. I was really shocked when I first learnt I was positive, but over time, I see that it's not a death sentence anymore. Maybe that's a good word you could tell those you know who are just recently diagnosed.
