Close Anxiety
Struggled with anxiety/depression issues for many years (since about 10). Have tried several councelors over the years, several medications. Am currently in therapy and taking fluoxetine. Since the loss of my dad 2 years ago, I am determined to not live life 'as good as it gets' rather 'as good as I can make it'
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- First anti-anxiety med prescribed to me by a psychiatrist, along with 'imiparamine'. The Lorazepam sure woke me up to what feeling 'normal' is like.
- Breathing Exercises Somewhat Helpful
- Deep breathing has helped keep me in the 'first fear' phase, away from the total panic stage.
- BuSpar Not Working
- First anti-anxiety med I was ever given, didn't help a bit.
- Paxil Somewhat Helpful
- Helped for many years, side effects... weight gain, trembling, decrease in sex drive.
- Xanax Somewhat Helpful
- Tried along side of paxil the beginning of 2007. Not sure if it helped or not, was changing to fluoxetine.
- Prozac Working / Worked
- Currently taking, working much better than Paxil, so far.
