They put lizzy on a trial drug, called imatinib or Glivec, which was suppose to switch of the phillidephia chromosone she had developed, which was mimiking the leukemia cells, at that point, we were lost and said yes, please try anything. sorry about my spelling by the way!! Even if they are out to make money, who cares, as long as it might do your daughter good at the end of the day. I know thats what i thought at the time. ok, it didnt work, but i know i had her inside my soul, at every point of chemo, lumber puncters, infections, etc.... i send you and your daughter all of my love, support and healing, hang in there xxxxxxxxx
hi, sending hugs and a prayer
I'm glad you liked it when you read it. You never can tell when someone might get offended by an offhand (or off color:) comment. I hope you are well and happy new year!
My five year old daughter has been diagnosed with ALL preB last January. For the most part her treatment was going great up until the last chemo before she was to be on maintenance. That was when she received 8 shots of cytarabine. After that everything went down the hill. She spent 32 days at two different hospitals and almost lost her life. Now shes home on maintenance and doing great but I still dont know why she got so sick.
I have two girls 5 and 8. My five year old has leukemia and is currently in her second month of maintenance. This September she started Kindergarden and so far she is doing really good although her teacher thinks she should know more. My 8 year old is in her 3rd grade and she is really struggling to keep up with the rest of her classmates. At first I thought it might have been do to our recent move from NY but its been a year now and she still has trouble learning.
Im a single or so called single mother of two girls. I moved to VA from NY and was gonna get my own place but one thing led to another and I ended up living with my boyfriend of 3 years. We got beautiful 3 bedroom townhouse and a driveway YAY!! I never had driveway in NY. Me and my boyfriend disagree a lot on raising kids (he doesn't have any) and gets upset when his mom takes my side.
I think my 8 year old daughter has ADD but I am not sure since I haven't really talk to her ped. Before I make that appointment I would like find some more info on ADD. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Well... I don't know where to start.. I'm a single mom with two girls , 5yo with leukemia and 8yo with what I think ADD. I moved to VA from NYC last November and my daughter got diagnosed with ALL in January. I almost lost her last summer due to high infection. Now they both go to the same school and I am ready to go to work.. One problem.. Nobody wants to hire me.. I guess because I lost my last job... I feel worthless
I love good food but I hate cooking and my appetite is really low... now that I think about it I don't have any appetite. I eat when I'm really hungry and that happens maybe twice a day. I look like a tooth pick and I hate it. I am embarrassed to go to the doctor and get myself checked.
My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with ALL in January, 2007. She's in remission now but I still drive myself crazy worrying about her.
