About Me
I had my first MS episode at age 19 (R side numbness) but was not diagnosed until 23 (L side optic neuritis). Am now nearly 42, and have finally let myself be talked into meds (daily Copaxone ... quite an accomplishment knowing my lifelong needle phobia!). For so many years I really thought I could control MS entirely through "mind over matter." So much so that I obtained a degree in naturopathy and practiced as an N.D. for several years. And it appeared to work -- no one ever knew I had MS unless I told them. But then in 2002 I returned to school to get a law degree (another effort to prove I could do "anything"). I learned the hard way that some career choices (at least for me) are simply not compatible with MS. I recently left my law practice in order to lead a more balanced life. I now hope to somehow create a new path where I can combine concepts of "natural medicine" with "natural law" to help people resolve conflicts in a healthier manner.
