    • About Me

My name is Juliann. I've been dealing with Anorexia since I was 18. I am currently separated from my husband of 12 years, but we have decided to get back together after filing for divorce. This is an absolute miracle! Miracles happen in recovery! I am well into recovery now, but I don't think I will EVER be totally out of the woods. I will always have to consciously guard against ED. We have a beautiful, talented 11 year old son, Justin. He just made it onto the US Figure Skating National Team!!! My passions are living in recovery, being my son's athletic agent, martial arts, eating mindfully and plentifully, preserving the environment. and giving all the credit to GOD. HE has been so good to my family and me.

    • Flower

      From Whymeagainnow January 21

Hi Julianne. I am sending you flowers - pretty flowers for a beautiful person! I will email you back in a little while. My Mom needs for me to call her right now, and I have to sign off of my computer to use my phone or it interrupts calls. I read youe message. I do want us to talk. I hate it that you are having problems, too. It sounds like us girls with anorexia get no respect? I have heard doctors say that I bring it all on myself. It troubles me the way you are treated. I wish your former doctor could resolve it by intervening? My old doctor is not available for me so I know how that goes. Anyway, I will write back tonight. For now - do take care of you! Love, Betsy

      Type: Anorexia

I am in a rotten marriage, have been through inpatient treatment 3 times and am currently going through a major episode.

      Treatments

      Dietitian Consult Working / Worked
I am 100 % against medication. I have suffered liver failure due to pharmaceuticals. I love therapy. Meditation and yoga also work very well for me.
      Group Therapy Working / Worked
very helpful when I can keep myself from competing for thinness.
      Outpatient Treatment Program Somewhat Helpful
I always felt that my experiences in a treatment facility were difficult because of the force feeding.
Overeaters Anonymous (OA) Working / Worked
went once. too many overweight people weighing their food and counting calories.
      Paxil Not Working
      horrible
      Prozac Not Working
      horrible
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
very helpful. I will do it always.
Residential Treatment Center Working / Worked
same as outpatient--difficult to be force fed. the support was great, though.
Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
Family of origin is great support. Friends help when I can open up to them. Husband creates more problems and drives me to the destructive behavior.
      Topamax Not Working
      terrible
      Zoloft Not Working
      bad, bad, bad.
Raw Food Diet Working / Worked
very healing to the body, mind and soul.
      Meditation Working / Worked
very healing and helps with stress.
      Acupuncture Working / Worked
amazing. heals some conditions , both mental and physical, instantly
      Forgiveness Working / Worked
I need to work on this more to rid myself of resentment. My holiistic dr. told me that resentment is carried in the gallbladder. And, i'm passing gall stones right now.
      Martial Arts Working / Worked
gives me an appetite. helps with mental clarity if i don't overdo it.
    • Close Homeschooling

Hi, I'm Juliann and I am homeschooling my 10 yr. old son, Justin. This is our first year and it has been challenging. I take a very relaxed approach, but I worry that I'm not covering everything I need to. I could use lots of support and advice. Please send it my way. Thanks!
