I was first dx'd in 1998, had a total hysterectomy/salpingo-oopherectomy, had 6 months of chemo then I had 5 years clean then it came back in my intestines and spleen. They took out my spleen and a couple inches of intestine and did chemo again. Now it is back in the form of tumors next to my liver. I am happily married, Mother of 2 adult sons and am spiritual although not religious. I get scared a lot

Close Ovarian Cancer
I was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July of 1998. I had a total hysterectmy and 6 months of chemo, then I had 5 years NED, Then it came back in my intestines. Lost my spleen and several inches of intestine in that surgery, and 6 mor months of chemo. I am now fighting tunors next to my liver, and it's been 9 years. They are treating me with breast cancer meds, I am now taking Faslodex. Sure hope we find something that works!
Treatments
- Topotecan Somewhat Helpful
- I had a lot of problems with my blood numbers, both red and white, but was on Gemzar at same time so it could have been that.
- Carboplatin Not Working
- had an anaphylactic reaction to these meds so had to change to Topotecan and Gemzar
