Have overcome codependency and feel I can encourage others.

- It's a two step forward, one step back process. Reading, discussing, being bold and disciplined in changing my mind set, standing up for my rights as a person.

Husband and adult son have ADHD. Looking for support and information.

- Adderall Working / Worked
- Works for husband and son.
- Tofranil Working / Worked
- Worked for husband but too many side effects.
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- Not a vast improvement for ADD, helped more for depression.
Open Depression
Have overcome episodes of depression throughout my life, and but my husband still has issues. Would like to offer and receive support.

- Gave me stomach cramps, was only partially successful for my husband.

- Talking about issues helped.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Friends helped get me out of the house.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- First time I took it, worked well. Second time, not so much.
- Writing Working / Worked
- Wrote a book documenting my, my husband's experiences. YES it helped. Very therapeutic.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Worked well for me, had loss of sexual drive.
Open Anxiety
Was BORN with anxiety. Diagnosed with GAD 17 years ago. Things gotten much better since menopause!!!
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- Take in the middle of the night when necessary for sleeplessness. Just need 1/2 mg., usually. Effective.
- BuSpar Working / Worked
- Was on it for a year. Initial side effect of dizziness, lack of focus.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Always helps to direct my mind towards God and get some direction when suffering anxiety.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- Worked well first time around. Second time, not so much.
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Very helpful - but lost sex drive.
Open Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
To learn and share information about ulcerative colitis, one of two autoimmune diseases that affects my husband.
Treatments
- Asacol Working / Worked
- Worked for about 18 months since 2006. Possibly contributed to two cases of pancreatitis.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Too Soon to Tell
- Husband is on the SC Diet (Specific Carbohydrate). Comes from the book "Breaking the Vicious Cycle." Book states it can take up to a year or two to go into remission. Husband's losing too much weight. Need another source of help!
- Colazal Not Working
- MAY be helping, but not much. Been on for 3 months. Sometimes think it causes nausea.
- Dietary Modification Too Soon to Tell
- On Specific Carbohydrate Diet since 04/21/09
- Entocort Working / Worked
- Tried it for one flare and it worked great.
- Flagyl Working / Worked
- Took a few rounds to get rid of blastocystis hominus parasite, which occured simultaneous to UC diagnosis.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Worked for first three flares then quit working.
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- VSL #3, Align, worked for about 10 months, then stopped.
- Remicade Working / Worked
- Had four infusions, last two double-dose, had minimal effect. Last dose had an allergic reaction. Will not take any more.
- Xifaxan Too Soon to Tell
- Been on it since 07/17/09. MAYBE some minor improvement. Will stay on two weeks and see what happens.
