In 91, while I was in treatment in Hunt, TX, it was suggested that I get tested as I had possible exposure through risky behavior. I was tested by the local public health nurse, in a small cabin in the middle of the one stop light town. Two weeks later a tear streaked nurse gave me my diagnosis, being one of the first that I'm sure that she had ever had to disclose. In 94 I was diagnosed with AIDS, and luckily, it was shortly before the advent of PI's, which helped bring up by 47 t cells.
