Your reply is very sensible. I wish I saw more of that on this list. Driving is great, but not if you might hurt people!!!! I just wish more people saw it that way...
Dimmie
Thanks
Thanks Dee, my Neurologist has explained all about abscence through to grand mal. I have been discharged back to my original neurologist as well as being referred to a cardiologist.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSSo far I haven't had a clear diagnosis of MS but I'm trying to be patient n calm about the whole thing. I've experienced symptoms for about the last 10yrs or so and as disabilities are my nursing specialty, I can pretty much diagnose myself. Pity they wont let us eh?? :-D
Close Chronic Pain
I've suffered with chronic pain since I was 16yrs old. Though I've never really been given a clear diagnosis. Initially I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis at 17 but now my GP's thinking it may have been the initial signs of M.S.
Treatments
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- It worked for most of the time tho was totally ineffective during particularly bad days
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- I've taken Ibuprofen for many years now and have frequently been advised to stop it n try something else. The only problem with that is nothing else seems to work. Everytime my GP tries something else, I'm left in so much pain I can barely function and have to resort to using the morphine. No use when your trying to work full time :-(
- Morphine Working / Worked
- I take Orimorph which is a liquid morphine. It works well during particularly bad days when combined with anti inflammatory drugs, however, it leaves me nauseaous and too weak to work which means I don't/can't use it very often.
- Swimming Somewhat Helpful
- I find being in the water helps take the pressure off my back and leg joints. I try to swim 2-3x/wk but cant always find the time or sometimes im just too tired
- TENS Working / Worked
- Helps if I'm going to be sitting for long periods eg training, and is able to be used over and over through out the day
Open Epilepsy & Seizures
I was diagnosed as having tonic clonic(grand mal) seizures at 16yrs old after being VERY ill. I also experience complex partial seizures tho both are controlled by medication

Open Food Allergies
Type of allergy: Other FoodsI was diagnosed with an alcohol allergy after suffering anaphalaxis at 16 when someone thought it would be ok to spike my orange juice at a party. I can't drink alcohol and react severely if I touch it. I was hospitalizes last month when I neglected to check the ingredients in a throat spray. I relied on the pharmacist who told me there was no alcohol in it. When I went back 3days later she said there was ethanol in it but not alcohol. So what the bloody hell is alcohol if not ethanol????!!!!
Treatments
- EpiPen Working / Worked
- Works well when necessary. Have just been given one of these after being rushed to hospital last month.
Open Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed at 16yrs x
Treatments
- Oral Contraceptives Somewhat Helpful
- did what it was supposed to but had too many side effects for me to continue
Open Healthy Sex
I've been with my boyfriend now for almost 4yrs x He moved into my house in Feb 08 x It's taken a little getting used to as I lived alone for 10yrs b4 that x We get on well most of the time x
Treatments
- Patience Working / Worked
- I'm a very patient person but even I run out sometimes :0)
