Dx'd w/SLE at 21. On Disability due to generalized anxiety disorder and SLE, since 2000. SLE has progressed to CNS lupus.
Treatments
- Azathioprine Working / Worked
- On it for years
- Celebrex Not Working
- Can't even remember why this is forbidden, but I took it for awhile.
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- I mean, really, I haven't been off drugs in years, so it may be the greatest thing in the world, but I'm having more break through flares, than I was when I took prednisone.
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- It worked... for awhile.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Best drug for relief of the symptoms. The usual side effects. Not permitted to take it any longer, due to said side effects.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- On it again, thank God! Blessed relief! For all the negatives, its the only thing I've ever been able to truly count on.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionWhat's to tell? I suffer from depression. It affects my day to day life. Some days are worse than others.
Treatments
- Celexa Working / Worked
- God help me, if they ever take me off it, again.
- Effexor Working / Worked
- Its my booster drug, to go along with the celexa.
- Elavil Not Working
- They increased the dose until I was hospitalized with seratonin syndrome
- Paxil Not Working
- It used to work. Then it stopped.
- Positive Thinking Not Working
- Too many dark thoughts cloud out the light. I keep trying, though, and I'm a great pretender.
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- Waste of our time, the counsellor's and mine, because we both knew what the issues were, already, and talking wasn't the answer.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- If I didn't have it, I'd be dead, or still trying to get that way.
- Trazodone Not Working
- This was tried... briefly
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- It worked....and then, it didn't
- Zoloft Not Working
- This was tried... briefly.
Open Antiphospholipid Syndrome
I presented with a massive DVT when I was 19, and have been on Coumadin, ever since.
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Taking between 5mg and 7.5mg/day to maintain an INR of 2.5
Open Anxiety
I had to stop all drug therapy, for my generalized anxiety disorder, due to drug interactions with my lupus meds. It was necessary to go on disability, in 2000, for that reason. I'm practically housebound, due to anxiety.
Treatments
- Ativan Somewhat Helpful
- It helped a little, but it interfered with some of my other drugs, so, I had to stop using it.
- Inderal Not Working
- Tried it for awhile. No luck.
- Remeron Not Working
- What a dreadful, horrendous drug! I was given it to help with depression. I'd wake up with night terrors. I became suicidal. I was having terrible dreams. I was frantic to get off it.
