Getting really escited now!!! Mood
Thursday, October 29, 2009 | A General Update story

The cruise is only 3 days away now.  Really getting excited.  It has just seemed like a dream until now.  I guess I was waiting for something to interfer with it but everything is working out just perfectly....for a change.

I managed to fight my cold back...thanks to DayQuil/NyQuil.  Feeling pretty good too.  Especially considering that I have spent the last 2 days on the run.  Almost got the house decorated for Halloween and the kids will be over on Friday to help with the spider webs and such....all those last minute touches.  Bear has gotten into it this year with us and that has made less work for me to do.  I was telling Bear last night that we ought to hire out to set up haunted houses for people.  We do a pretty good job.  Bear's bathroom is the morgue and autopsy room.  blood and body parts all over the place lit with strobe lights and candles.  My bathroom is the apothecary shop complete with misting bowl, blacklights, a few crows and old bottles sitting around.  My kitchen is the Dead Man's Diner....again, blood and body parts scattered around, with a menu board and skull lights all over the place.  The hallway looks like a dungeon with chains and manacles and the rest of the house is just lit with all kinds of spooky lighting, webs, bleeding candles and skulls, a talking crystal ball and skull, tattered cheesecloth draped over shelves and hung over the windows.  Outside we have cardboard tree cut outs painted flat black with flourescent paint outlining them and blinking eyes on them and of course a black light.  Out front of the house it looks like the Blair witch has been around.  It really is the most elaborate one we have set up and we have had lots of fun.   One really nice think is the kids are gonna be staying here while we are gone and they will have it all put away by the time we get back home.  Yippee!!!

I am really glad for that too, because shortly after we get back we will be having my mother=inlaw's service here and then Darrel's on the 21st.  I expect a house full for both services.  I've called my Indian sister/friend back to help me.  I will have so many people here that she is bringing her tent to pitch out in my private garden area.

I've been managing to set aside any stress to deal with after we get back....I just hope it holds for 3 more days.  Then it should be stress free for at least 7 days.  Should just be lots of fun.

The dragon has become bored and dozed off, I think.

Keep that dragon sedated - and have fun on Saturday! I can't wait until Sunday when we get to finally hug for real!

We're flying out at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening - getting into LAX late - then being tourists on Saturday. You have my mobile number - should work great in LA so we can hook up on Sunday. We plan to be at the ship at the earliest possible time so we may be boarded by the time you get there - in which case we'll be exploring - which will probably be a seven-day job on a ship that size!

Boy, you all really go out for Halloween. It sounds insane.

So glad you fought the cold off. You guys are going to have such a good time! I was in San Diego once with my sister and we happened to be where they loaded the ships. It was pretty amazing how quickly they got it done, but that's what they're in the business for.

    Here's to smooth sailing.
