When the weather changes, I always seem to catch a head cold. So one week before my cruise, guess who shows up. You guessed....Mr. Head Cold! So I'm pumping myself full of echinacea and goldenseal along with some DayQuil/NyQuil and hoping by time to leave, it will have passed.
Have you noticed that when you cough in public now, everyone avoids you and looks at you like you are a pariah?? I always cover my mouth when I cough and I carry a bottle of hand sanitizer and use it everytime I cough. Of course, I can't say I blame people either. We have created such wonderful little mutated germs that you just never know which one that person is carrying. Having worked in a hospital with a younger sister that still does, makes you more than aware of these facts.
Only 8 days to go now. I went and bought a bunch of travel size bath products and such so I wouldn't have to find room for my economy size stuff. LOL I'm trying to keep the number of bags to 4 check ins and about 3 carry-ons but finding it hard. They have laundry facilities available BUT I don't want to have to do any "chores" while I am on this cruise. Although because of all the clothes, I am having to pack an iron. LOL So I guess I won't completely get away from doing SOME work.
Still having a sleep issue. If I could just get my mindless brain to turn off, I think I would have it licked.
Joyce finally let my "hint" sink in, apparently. Its been several days since I have heard from her. And I'm feeling bad. I hope she doesn't think she can't call me at all now. I suppose I will call her sometime this next week and just touch bases with her....thanking her for giving me a little space and telling her I will talk with her again when I get back from Mecixo. What do you think?? Diplomatic enough?? I want to maintain contact with her, I just need a break right now.
ROFLMAO....the jets from 29 Palms Marine base just flew over the hills behind the house and then dropped low over my house headed for some flight ops over the Salton Sea and my dogs are just singing away. LOL Yona has just figured out that he could howl and its so funny to watch him.
There was a beautiful sunrise this morning. Purples, oranges and yellows....absolutely gorgeous. And almost cold, at least to an old desert rat like me....it was about 55 degrees.
The dragon is still grinning but I'm trying hard not to pay him any mind!

Better to catch a cold now and get over it, than to wait a week and be miserable.
Love the avatar!

I'm living in fear of this damned H1N1 flu - two in our office out - one is my boss - yikes! We're all about the hand sanitizer - Jon and I are actually avoiding going out right now just trying to stay well. I'm glad you "only" have a cold - take it as easy as you can and get better.
You are always diplomatic, giving the chance. You're doing great - especially under the circumstances. Be your always nice self but don't let anyone run over you.
See you on the 1st!

Sorry you're feeling sick. No matter when it happens you don't need it. As for me I'm sick of hearing about 'swine flu'. The panic is largely media created (one reason I gave up journalism as a profession). More people die from REGULAR flu than have from 'swine flu'. The UN is calling it an 'epidemic', which it isn't, the President has declared a 'state of emergency' about it which I think is ridiculous. When we have people dropping like flies (as in the 1918 flu epidemic or the Black Plague that hit Europe in the Middle Ages) is when I'm going to start worrying about it.
So everyone go have a cup of Oregano tea and relax. I'll shut up about it now.
Basket, I think giving your friend a call is a great
idea. Everyone needs some space every now and then and sometimes you just have to insist on it.

Darn that Mr Cold. Get better and pack more and dream sweet dreams of your cruise.

You said the right thing - you need some space and rest. She will understand. Glad you got the cold now so that you will be over it. Hope Sue doesn't get the flu before the cruise. Damn - HlN1 virus is a scary one. You take care and know that I'm thinking about you. Sunrise sounds so beautiful. Enjoy.
