Hi Every Body!

I was going to log on to DS Journal and say a few words about my impending trip to Lubbock when I noticed something.  People had actually read my journal entries and left some of the nicest and kindest feedback I have ever read.  It never occurred to me (yes I’m dumb at times) that any one would care about what I wrote. I am truly humbled and amazed at all of the wonderful people that took the time and cared enough to see how I was doing and maybe share a laugh at some satire. To all of you… I apologize for not seeing this sooner and thanking you in person. What a great group of people on DS. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

I am off to Lubbock for a second fill on my lap band this week end.  I had the belt installed in September and was allowed one fill after 3 months. As far as I could tell this first fill caused no restriction and I have been keeping my weight in check by good old fashioned calorie counting.  I lost 25 pounds before the operation and 16 after. The after came from a total fast of two days before surgery and then 10 days after. I could have lost this weight by just starving it off.  Now after six months I can get a second fill.  Its my personal belief that this doctor did not want me for a patient but was forced into taking me by the letters my General Practitioner, Kidney Specialist, and Heart Doctor wrote in favor of the operation to both him and my insurance company.  In truth, I would never have picked this Doctor, he was the ONLY ONE my insurance company authorized.  I had no choice but to roll the bones and accept the results.  I have often wondered if it were his intention for me to fail?  The man didn’t know it but he had a bull dog for a patient, once I latch on I don’t let go. I have some how lost five more pounds as of this morning, and I hope he doesn’t try and take credit for that.  I may have to tell him how I feel and please get my records for me, I am finished here!  I just may do that anyway, Nurse Bozo my dog says I should.  (I call him nurse because this dog once saved my life by talking me into seeing a doctor, when I was well on my way to a dirt nap).  If any one is considering surgery in Lubbock feel free to drop me a line and I will tell you who to avoid.

Luv U Charlie!! Janice is a Very Lucky Lady!! I sure hope this fill helps some!, I have a hard time believing that any other bariatric clinic couldn't do the job of your follow ups. Check with your insurance. now that the bulk of the cost is gone, they might allow you to use a different dr!

    Good Luck!
    God Bless!

    Hey Charlie
How goes it so far. Did you have your second fill yet?? I didn't do lap band, I did bypass and have lost 100 lbs to date. I can't get over how much better I feel.

Hope you can find a better doc to take care of you.

    Debbie
