I have a hard time with journals, I just dont find me interesting at all. I did consider this... perhaps I can use this journal to explain how I feel and why. Ok, if your still reading and not closed this window, here goes... You know.... its no secret I am a registered independent voter, I think I have mentioned my ties to both parties through my parents. I sat down yesterday and thought a while... until smoke filled the room and my head hurt. I remembered Nixon having a hit list (he never got to use it since he had to leave office) of Democrats he hated. Then came Jimmy Carter who foolishly granted Playboy an interview and said yes, he had committed adultery many times (using the biblical definition... if you look upon a woman with lust you have already committed adultery in your heart). Poor Jimmy got zapped pretty bad for that and I bet Roslyn slept alone for several weeks! Then we had George Bush SR. Remember the bomb shell Pat Robertsons son was born before nine months of his marrying his wife? Then running against John McCain.... the rumor was started that McCain had fathered a black child out of wedlock and brought her home for his wife to raise. (The truth was that Cindy McCain had visited Mother Teresa's orphanage in India. Mother T asked Cindy to take the child to America because she was not only orphaned but an untouchable. She had no chance of a life with out misery in India. Cindy fell in love with the child and they adopted her, John dropped out of the election rather than subject this girl to the media onslaught). Then there was Bill Clinton and they found Craig Livingstone in the basement of the Whitehouse with a pile of 300 FBI files of Republicans Hillary wanted to nail. Bill also sicked the IRS on folks he considered enemies. The present Bush has his share of troubles and many are rumored but not yet proven. Now we have Obama that sends his workers to do his dirty work smearing a little lady from Alaska (her husband had a DWI in 1980, Her daughter is pregnant, she should have aborted that down syndrome child, she has no experience, etc). He stands back, pretends his hands are clean, and says 'Its wrong to attack her family." But no one on his team EVER gets fired for dirty politics. All of this is just to say I am SICK of DIRTY UNDERHANDED POLITICAL CRAP! BOTH PARTIES ARE GUILTY, no wonder no one wants to run for office! I wonder if Obama has considered that while Mr. Palin was drunk, he was high on cocaine? Isnt that a rich mans drug, poor folks buy crack? Politics is no longer about whats best for the country or who has solutions to the problems, its now smear your opponent and hope he quits! Oh well, just the venting of one totally disgusted old white guy, the blue eyed devil Rev. Wright warned about. I sure hope that I didnt offend any one... but I am sick and tired of politicians that have lost sight of what their job is. It isnt to get elected so they can do things their way now, It should be to get elected and serve the people. That doesnt means doing what THEY want done and call it "DOING THE RIGHT THING." Hog Wash, the right thing is to do what the people want you to do, STUPID!

Good Morning, I have a problem and no amount of independent research has brought me to a satisfactory conclusion. I come before you my friends, humbled at my own inability to understand why this concept is so far out of my grasp. But I do have to admit defeat and ask for your opinions, and knowledge to help me get past this problem. I have chosen two groups of people that I think may have a better perspective, given each of your years of experience. I am going to appeal to both my friends with laboratory experience, some college educated, and second to homemakers. Those of you that know me well can appreciate the time and energy I have already spent on this project, and how many grand cleanings I have afforded the microwave. To all concerned I will add this to the equation; I live at an altitude of approximately 7000 ft. The question is this, and please be assured I am dead serious. When I make Campbell’s cream of anything soup using skim milk, the mixture reacts violently to heat. It appears to boil at temperatures much lower than the boiling point of milk or water. In a microwave oven, it will hit a violent boil in 30 seconds, although the mixture when stirred and tasted is just warm at best. After 30 seconds for safety’s sake its best heated 20 seconds at a time, and each time it appears to boil while still being cool enough to not burn skin. I have tried every way to heat it I can think of, yet this “false boil” takes place. Does anyone know how and why this happens? How can I stop this reaction from taking place? Am I doomed for all eternity to baby sit the microwave when heating my soup? Thank you all in advance! I really do appreciate your help and all but the nastiest comments concerning my ancestry and anatomy, and inability to find a life. Charlie

believe it or not I have the same problem with some foods in the microwave and I don't live at any high elevation. I just use a spatter screen from the dollar store, or papertowels, to control the mess!
I just put the spatter screen thru with the dishes, when they get cleaned. When it gets ugly looking, I just buy a new one.
It is still noisy! but it works! Good Luck!

I had this same problem when we lived in Castle Rock,Co. where we lived on the hill behind the town where the elavation was 6,600 feet you could not hard boil an egg in three minutes(it would take at least 10).But getting back to heating up your soup,I still have that problem down here at a little over 4,000 feet.And another thing is that the time that some of these canned soups have is that the time on the can only warms it a little(maybe that is because of the law suits that McDonalds had over the coffee being to hot).But if I was you I would wrap your container in saran wrap and just let it make all kinds of noise and watch it when you take the saran wrap off because you could get a burn because of the steam built up in the container.By the way it will probably be so hot that you have to let it stand for a while before you can eat it.It is a funny thing and it does bring a laugh if you think about it..ROFL...Have a great day

i would write to dear abbey and write to the soup company. they have experts that can figure it out. i live very naturally and at sea level. i don't cook really, just microwave, and when i do i don't read directions. i put it in the micro and when it starts to smell like cooked food i know its done. lol.xx
1. Never eat anything you dont want to see again.
2. Always remember "Spice is not nice."
3. If it looks good you probably shouldnt eat it. If it tastes good you will know why shortly.
4. If they had Lap Bands during the Middle Ages, thumb screws would have been unnecessary.
5. A Lap Band is to fine dining, what abstinance is a fulfilled sex life.

Love your lap badn rules really love #4 - I have ulcers and GERD so most of these apply to that also except for #3 I at least have yummy things I can eat and are good for one..HUGS

Thats so true !! Street venders and there onions smell nice dont want the hamburger or the hot dog just the onions .I bet tey taste a lot better over there to ??

Hey Charlie,I think you hit the nail right on the head about poloticians.Get in office any way possible and don`t care who it hurts.And when you get there do what they want not what they were elected to do.Shame on them.That is all I had better say about them.
