About Me
I'm a 57 year old woman who has been through a lot in the last couple years. I survived thyroid cancer but still trying to get my thyroid levels adjusted. I believe I'm there. Been in a relationship for 4 years and not doing so well. Working on trying to get out of this relationship. Financially it's impossible so trying to make it through till I can. I am disabled with arthritis in my feet and neck. After thryoid cancer my arthritis seems to have intensified. Feeling down and out at times.

Glad your thyroid levels are better. My daughter has hashimoto's and takes Synthroid. She feels so much better now that her levels are stable.

I am so glad the your doctor gives you relief. I had a lumbar epidural Friday, but I am going to need neck surgery. I just had surgery for skin cancer near my eye Monday and have to see a plastic surgeon next week for repair. I wish I could trade myself in for cash for Clunkers. How is your thyroid problem?

Close Physical & Emotional Abuse
To get support on the Physical and Emotional Abuse that I am going through.
Treatments
- Abuse Counseling Somewhat Helpful
- I have seeked support for my relationship but my boyfriend didn't want to go and so it didn't work. Both people have to get help. He says everything is my fault so I'm the only one that needs help.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I have gone through this type of help but like I said he didn't want to participate. I was told to leave the relationship, which I have a tried and am still working on that part.
- Talking Somewhat Helpful
- I like to talk and vent and get it out. I can't talk to my boyfriend, he just says I'm whining and seeking pity.
Open Arthritis
I have really bad arthritis in my feet (big toe areas). I also have arthritis in my cervical neck area. Looking for help.
Treatments
- Pain Management Clinic Not Working
- Cortisone shots only temporary relief. Didn't really work.
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- It really didnt do much for my feet. I soak them in epsom salts and it gives temporary relief.
Open Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my wrist. I have to be very careful with it because when it flares up it's very painful for months.
Treatments
- Wrist Splint Working / Worked
- Yes it helped when they put it in a splint. It took a few months before the pain went away after hurting it.
- Cortisone (Injection) Working / Worked
- Yes it helped when I received a cortison injection. It does wear off and then it takes awhile before the pain goes away.
Open Shyness
I've had a hard time talking to people all my life. I have a hard time even making eye contact with people. I guess because when I was brought up my Dad spoiled me and didn't make me associate with people.
Treatments
- Pets Working / Worked
- Yes my pets are very easy for me to associate with and have feelings for and show my feelings. I love my animals.
- Self-esteem Not Working
- I don't have much self-esteem. I guess what I'm going through now certainly isn't helping me.
- Self-help Working / Worked
- I try to read books and such but I am a real loner of a person. I haven't really made friends in my life because I don't think I ever had time too. When I was younger we moved so much I didn't have time to make friends and most of my life has been like that.
- Singing Not Working
- I can't sing so this doesn't help.
Open Degenerative Disc Disease
I have degenerative disc disease and it can be very painful especially when it flares up. Have to be very careful with it.
