    • About Me

I'm a 27 year old registered nurse. I married by best friend in September as we had planned. However, we didn't know that our wedding day would be just a few days after being told our little girl had passed away. Dot Jackson is her name. Her daddy named her that, because at the 5 week scan all he saw was a dot. Dot was only intended to be her nickname, but after she'd passed we legally named her Dot. Being that that was the only name anyone ever knew her as. And to me she looks like her name. It's cute and fitting for her. DH and I have a 3 year old cat, Oscar. He's our four legged child. Being Dot was our first two legged child. LOL!!! I'm so glad that I found DS. I don't know where I'd be without everyone here. I found DS on accident, because I was Googling something regarding m/c and loss and this popped up on the first page of results!!!!

    • Close Miscarriage

on 9/18/07, after 18 weeks of pregnancy my now husband and I were told our baby hadn't grown since 14 weeks and there were no fetal heart tones on U/S. We were told just days before our wedding that our baby had gone to be with God. We were crushed. Our dreams for this child in that instant were taken from us. This pregnancy had no complications known to us (Dr.s, nurses, family, myself and spouse, etc.). We'd lost our "Dot". Our girl was gone

      Treatments

      Crying Working / Worked
My emotions are like a cup and once they fill to the point of overflow I cry. And it helps, and my husband is great, he holds me through it and lets me cry no matter where. I've cried in restaurants, stores, in parking lots, etc. It is a release.
      Love Working / Worked
From my family, friends, and spouse. My spouse of 2weeks and I followed through with our wedding the week we found out our baby passed away. Doing that helped me and our relationship. I know that I am loved and that he truly loves me. We take our vows more seriously and are living proof of the for better or worse. We married during our darkest hour, which was hard, yet easy at the same time. Love lets me know I'm not losing my mind, and that our baby would've wanted us to love each other.
      Lunesta Working / Worked
Helped me get some sleep the first few days after. I couldn't sleep and probably need to start back taking it since I don't go to bed until 4 am (after refusing to sleep) and awake in the afternoon feeling unrested.
      Prayer Working / Worked
Keeps me sane. and let's me know God has not forgotten about my husband and I.
      Psychotherapy Working / Worked
I used to go once a week now i go every 2. It has helped tremendously. I don't think I would be making as much progress, and processing and working through the grief like I am without it.
    • Close Diets & Weight Maintenance

I am also apart of the miscarriage/stillbirth community, because I lost my baby at 19 weeks in September, 07. With that pregnancy I gained 30-35 pounds and now am weighing 201lbs. This is the heaviest I've ever been, and I know that I can lose the weight as I've done it before. At age 22 I lost 40lbs I went from 180 to 140 in about 4-5 months with Weight Watchers and exercise. I fell off the wagon and my weight slowly climbed . I want to get my weight down at least 10lbs b4 I get preg again.

      Treatments

      Dancing Working / Worked
I love doing work out DVDs that are dance based. The give me something fun to do. I can't wait to get my Yoga Booty Ballet(tm) DVDs in the mail and start doing those. I also like belly dance work outs.
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
This is something I enjoyed, but was too tired to do while pregnant. However, I did do some of the pregnancy work out dvds
      Slim-Fast Not Working
This has never worked for me. My hunger won't leave me. I have to have small meals.
      Weight Watchers Working / Worked
At age 22 I lost 40 lbs on this plan and felt great. I just recently rejoined doing their monthly pass. Now I just have to get my butt to the meetings that are in the building next door to my job. I'm excited to get started.
    • Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility

DH and I lost our little girl, Dot on 9/24/07 at 18 weeks. We are planning to TTC after her due date of February 16, 2008 (we're shooting for March/April to start). I'm excited, but also scared. And am seeking support from those who've had subsequent successful pregnancies after loss. 2/22/08-For the past week we have been TTC and I have been extra tired lately, along with HAs and a metallic taste. Pray that it's a BFP soon. I got my BFP on 3/1/08. I am now 5weeks on Monday 3/17/08.

    • Open Pregnancy

This is my second pregnancy after m/c in 9/07 at 18 weeks

    • Open Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1)

I am 28 Years old and just gave birth to my second child (first living child) on 11/8/08. My DH and I couldn't be happier and Leah is beautiful. DH and I are excited to embark on this journey into parenthood with our new daughter. We've been home for almost 1 week now and things are going well. I'm healing from my Csection and we're getting to know our daughter.

      Treatments

      Breast Feeding Working / Worked
Enjoying this experience. Leah took to this like a duck to water.
      Patience Working / Worked
Working on this, but I'm more patient than I was before we had her.
      Research Working / Worked
I am constantly reading books and updating myself. I was a NICU nurse for 4 1/2 years, so newborn care is easier for me, but things are constantly changing so I like to stay up on it. Plus I don't know it all. Like I don't know all about breastfeeding.
    • Open Breastfeeding

I am a first time mom, 3 weeks post partum and working on getting my supply to increase and heal form a C-section.
