When I was able to work I was a bookkeepper at a lumber company. Gave this up to care for my Mom after my Dad passed. Also cared for some of my grandchildren during those years. When the youngest grandchild was to start school I thought it would be cool to get back to work. No such luck, after being home for so many years, no one was interested in a woman my age. Then the love of my life moved on to something younger. All the stress sent my health down the drain.I have 4 kids and 10 grandkids.

I'll always be there, When you need me, I'll always be there, This you will see. I'll always be there, To make you smile. I'll always be there, For a very long while. I'll always be there, To hold your hand. I'll always be there, By your side, I'll stand. I'll always be there, Forever by your side. I'll always be there, A place for you to hide. If there is one ingredient which adds warmth and love to our lives... it is friendship. Friends surround us with the beauty of there caring. With friends we can share what we see, what we feel, and what we love. Friends help us with our problems because they listen. And as they listen we begin to hear the language of... our own hearts. With friends we have a place to go to be accepted and understood. Together we can laugh. Together we can cry. Our thoughts are heard, our feelings are held in the heart of a friend. With friends our lives are made more full, more rich, more open, beautiful and blessed! I am Glad I Have You as a Friend
RA is only one of my illnesses,I also have COPD, Vascular Disease, and Depression.About 2 years ago the love of my life found someone younger and moved on. Leaving me alone, terrified, and unemployed. At 56, and not having worked for 10 yrs, the stress kicked in. They found a blocked carotid artery, and after surgery the flares began. I had been diagnosed 16 yrs early, but did nothing. No insurance, no income, a big mess for a life if you want to call it a life.
A smoker for to many years, a family history of lung disease and still trying to quit at 58. Successfully quit for 6 years a long time ago. A year ago I quit for 6 months, which should have been at least 12 months. This was so that they would operate on my carotid artery which was 85% blocked.
In 95 I lost my Dad, Mom didn't want to leave her home with all of her memories. My husband (at that time) agreed I would quit working and move in with her, he was wonderful and supportive then.In 98 I lost my Mom, but by then had grandkids with dead beat dads, so we agreed I would stay home and care for them. In 05 he decides he leaves for something younger.
I had a carotid endorectomy in July of 2006. The artery was 85% blocked. The surgery went well and so far all is good.
