About Me
I spend my waking hours either thinking about gambling or thinking about no gambling - it seems nothing else matters anymore.

welcome to DS. You will find the support and strength you need here. It's been a haven for me and many others, just to know you are not alone is a huge support. Wishing you all the best.
I’m With You
What you describe, that constant thinking about gambling, is called obsession. It is half the problem. The other half is called compulsion, the irresistable urge to act upon the obsession. We understand, we are all like you, to one degree or another. Now, the next step, Do you seriously want to do something about this problem? Do you really believe that you have a problem? Is your problem a behavior problem or a money problem? How do you feel about these questions. Write something in your journal, so we can get to know you. There is a solution. You are not alone in this. Hugs

Close Gambling Addiction & Recovery
Moved to Nevada 6 years ago to take care of aging parent; started as fun - now a nightmare - I can no longer remember who I am.
Treatments
- Gamblers Anonymous Working / Worked
- I am unable to connect with groups; keep looking for 1 or 2 individuals I with whom I can relate.
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- I am not always truthful so it can't work. I really want to run away from everything, but that is why I got into this in the first place.
