Journal Entry for December 7, 2007 Mood
Friday, December 7, 2007
I  went to the pain clinic last week, the therapist on Tuesday and the hairdresser on Wednesday.  The consensus was all the same. "what is going on with your hair and your eyes?" So much of my hair has fallen out, and my eyes are buggy looking. My therapist used to be a nurse practitioner, so I feel comfortable with her as far as medical issues go. She was the first one to mention SRCD(RSD) about 3 years ago. And it wasn't until last month that the Gp finally agreed with her. The hairdresser had to do a major hair cut just to make it look like I didn't have gaps in my hair. It's not the best I've looked, but we work with what we have. She's afraid to bob it,  in case it continues to fall out. So I called the gp yesterday and they said come in now. The are running all kinds of tests that I've had before, but Cheryl (yes, by now we're on first name basis) said the last tests showed everything was normal but only by 1 point or right on the border. So she's testing for Lupus, arthritus, thyroid, Graves, addisions, shjogrens, and lymes. They took 5 vials of blood and when I got home, I slept for 4 hours. Once again, my husband's reaction,  if you would just start walking 2 hours a day, you would be fine.  ARG! I know he wants a quick fix, but it isn't going to happen. God bless him, he's tired of being a caretaker. Pray for him, not for me.

I will keep both of you in my prayers.I am currently in sort of the same situation. On second lot of blood tests,my hair has been falling out the last couple of months. My eyes also look odd they have sunk into my head, not looking too hot at the moment....LOL.
I hope you get good news back from your tests and answers to questions.I wish it was as easy as walking 2 hours a day don't you??.I am not educated when it comes to RSD but understand it to be very painful burning sensations that move over the body? Can they do an actual test just for that or is it worked out from various tests?
Glad you had a nice sleep.Done exactly the same today went to DRS,on the way home on the bus a lady fell on top of me,i tried to stop her from falling to the ground.Within a couple of mins my muscles were hot and pulsating my back was on red alert.Managed to get home, take meds and climb into bed.I too slept for 4 hours.I am just hoping this isn't going to turn into a major flare up.
Take care my dear friend and let me know how the tests go.
    God bless,
    Lou x x x

I'm sorry you're having such a time right now Dee. My oldest daughter has Lupus and her hair falls out bad like that but no problem with the eyes. She does have that red rash mask around her eyes & nose tho. So many of these deseases have similar symptoms that it's hard to figure out what you have exactly, you know? I don't think I know what RSD is. Your husband is just grasping at straws by telling you to walk. Bless his heart....our loved ones just latch on to "anything" they just KNOW will make it all better and go away. They're in denial plain and simple. I think that's why it's so important to have cites like this one where we can communicate with people like ourselves who understand what each other is going thru.
I hope the blood test will show something to give you some idea as to what's going on with the hair and eyes. I wish you luck. Take care of you and know that I'm thinking of you! Love, Dale
