Journal Entry for October 30, 2007 Mood
Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Some of you already know this, but then some one suggested putting it my journal so maybe it could help someone else. Last Monday, 2 of our dogs Seamus (standard poodle) and Dina (great dane/Lab mix) got hit by 2 seperate cars around 5 p.m. One of the cars left and one of the cars pulled in the driveway. We live about 450' back from the road. In the haste of wrapping the great dane in a blacket as she was t-boned and in the worst shape. And then getting the poodle carried down the steps and into my lap, my husband was trying assure the young man it wasn't his fault, but we had to leave immedialty. I didn't even have on shoes. We weren't sure Dina was going to make to the vet and blood was coming out of her eye and she was coughing it up too. We left before the man did- we never even looked back.  We were gone at least 3 hours. When we got home (minus 2 dogs- one at the vet and one in an overnight emergency room) the house was unlock! When I woke up the next morning, I had one of my "funny feelings". I immedialey went to the counter where I keep my daily medicines. I was missing 2 fentynl patches, 20 somas, 15-20 valium. Then I went to the kitchen drawer where my other meds are. My glucose kit was open and all of the needles were in the bottom of the drawer. All of the methadone were gone, 80 skelaxin, and all but 1 of  the diareahha medicine was gone. They only took the $ makers.  I have now, gotten a lock box. Dollar short and Dollar late, as I am going to have to go 1 week without meds. The problem with a lock box is that it will have to be moved and hidden constantly. with fibro fog, I'm worried about remembering where I'll hide the key. Already happened once! I urge everyone to do this. I never thought I could happen to me!

Dee, That is the most horrible thing I have ever heard. It is most awful what happen with your dogs, then to have that happen that someone, this person do that is even worse. Did you contact the police? Are you able to speak to your DR's and explain? I know how DR's are and will probably say no refills early no matter what!!I can't even imagine that. I am so sorry that happen to you on so many levels.

I had this happen to me Dee...
If you file a police report , you can get your medication back ?
Im sorry about the dogs.. I have noticed that animals show me a somewhat sense of "love" I cant get from the Human population!
Call the police and explain what happened ... call the doc. and ask them to up your dose for just a week and then you can get it refilled ...
I had 40 hydrocodones stolen, called my doc and she upped the script to take 4 instead of three a day so I could get it filled ...
Im so sorry and I will be thinking of you!
If there is anything at all I can do to help- im a click away !
    much love darling!
