I'm 27 and have been trying to get pregnant for 6 yrs. We were just using our regular OBGYN, until he couldn't do any more for us, he sent us to a specialist, in may of '07. In may of '08 we had our first ultrasound of our BABY!! We are due in December, and couldn't be any happier :)

Type: Ovarian IssuesI've never been regular, I would go 3 months on and 3 months off. I never gave it much thought until I got married. We went the first yr. trying naturally, after that my cousin referred us to a doctor. After 4 yrs. with him, he said there was nothing more he could do for us, and referred us to an IVF Specialist. We have been with him for 5 months now and even though we are not pregnant yet, We are hopeful and feel we are where were suppossed to be.
Treatments
- Basal Thermometer Not Working
- When I was doing the temps. I never seen an increase I was always the same temp no matter what. Which was frustrating. That was the very first thing we did i did that for about 2 years.
- Clomid Working / Worked
- I've been on clomid for a just about the 5 yrs. we have been trying. Our 1st doctor put me on that, but I didn't go to the doctor regulary, I would get to emotional and take a couple of months off. But I have been on it the last 5 months. Side effects - I get moody, one min. I'm laughing then I start to cry. I get angry, upset, just about everything. My husband is the best he now know how to handle me when I get like that.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- I've been on prenatal's for about a year now that are high in folic acid. Our first doctor got us on that.
- Follistim Working / Worked
- We haven't actually done this yet, but the Gonal-f pen is in my refridgerator waiting for me to start my period
- HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Working / Worked
- I have to go on for this pretty soon, I've heard both sides, it hurts you will cramp, and then I've heard it feels like period cramps wasn't that bad. Again when I start my period I will be scheduling that then.
- Metformin Working / Worked
- I've been on glucophage for 5 months, started out ok on it, last month the doctor asked how I was doing on it, and I told him I get sick feeling. He said that was common. There for awhile I couldn't eat meat it made me so sick. I ate lots of jello and popsicles. I'm still currently taking it.
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Working / Worked
- I tried the at home ovulation tests but they never said I was ovulating, and they aren't cheap so we stopped with those.
- Progesterone Working / Worked
- Progesterone Cream Working / Worked
- I tried this I believe it was in our 2-3rd year of trying. It did nothing was disgusting.
Close Adoption
We have been ttc for about 6 yr.'s now, and I don't know how much more I can take. So my DH and I started looking into adoptions agencies in Michigan. I'm planning a meeting w/ somone who has adopted to hear her story and ask questions. I want to be a mom more than anything. My DH and I have so much love to give we think adoption may be the right step for us.
