I am so glad to hear you are out of the hospital. Are you doing ok? I have not been active here for a couple of months because of my own health issues. But, have promised to try to reconnect with everyone. God Bless! JoAnn

Hi Wheezymom. How are you doing? I hope you are well. Did you get a flu shot before flu season hit? I was the first at my doctor office to get one. Anyway, take care! Your friend JoAnn

I surely know what u mean when u say u used to be active. My son and I it seems we fight constantly and I know it is because he doesn't understand completely why I can sit in that darn chair all day and not go out to work ...thought he watches me get to the car ..somedays are bad some aren't. But I so know how you feel. I wonder sometimes what is the point if my future is going to leave me dependent on others...but it is my call so i move my thoughts and go on. Big hug and glad you got to enjoy the grand kids!

We do have alot in common don't we? I really would like to do all those grandma type things with my grandkids. But here I sit connected to my oxygen tank, getting winded just by walking to the bathroom. On the bright side...at least we are still here to see them!!! I am happy to have you as a new friend wheezynmom. Have a great weekend. JoAnn

WE should alll go dress like ghosts and scare the crap out of the doctors that told us that. My son was sitting there when the 2nd one told me and he kept waiting on me to die. It was awfu! One day they will answer!

Welcome to DS..lots of great supportive people here that do understand. One thing you surely want to consider with COPD is that when staging people get scared like they are having cancer staged. It doesn't mean that at all. It is a guide to tell u where your lung function is today ..with meds, no smoking, exercise and diet..copd IS NOT a death sentence. I get really upset when people are told they have end stage copd. I was suppose to be dead in July this past year..ha ha ha ...the only problem I have is I am slower than normal and have gained 40 pounds..but all in all having to slow down wasnt such a bad thing for me. I like me as a person now! Hugs to ya..we are all here for you!

I can so relate to what you are going through. I was in the hospital for a week in August the first couple of days I had visitors, then nothing. I have COPD and CorPulmonale and I also have Sleep Apnea and sleep with the Bipap machine. I am on oxygen 24/7. I have nine grandchildren. They used to come spend the night with grandma, but no longer because grandma cannot do it anymore. I really miss that. Just know there are others who can empathize with you. We know what you are experinceing. I am sending you a great big warm hug! Luv JoAnn
