Journal Entry for March 17, 2008 Mood
Monday, March 17, 2008

Well..here is a photo of the attic which has,  so desperately needed sorting out... for so many years that I can't remember how many..  and this is the first time I have seen what was up there.  All three of my babies came to do it and Louisa, Fleur and Bobby helped as well.

Joy and Bonny came the night before which was extra lovely and made easy by the fact that Joy is now driving..  She passed her test five years ago and hadn't driven since, until recently, when she started practising again.  Her sister passed ten years ago.. and has also been having refresher lessons, as she hasn't been driving either... Oh well.. we get there eventually in this family..

The blue bedroom, which has only recently been painted, was used to put the stuff in whilst it was sorted..  I think the children enjoyed this part, as there was just about every piece they had ever brought home from school up there and also so many of their favourite toys, dressing up clothes, books and so much more..   I was worried about the decorating and the mess it was all going to make, but also relieved that it was being done..

Fortunately, they didn't want my help with any of it.. so I  kept busy cooking a yummy lunch.. cheese, spinach, onion and lentil flan... and also on the computer..  Fleur set me up with an ebay account and we have posted a few items on it to see how they go.. so I guess I might have come a step further to fullfilling my goal and earning some money from home..   The end of my goal date is 1st April.. so I might have just made it.. phew..  so long as something sells before then..  well maybe not quite a living.. but a start.. at least..

I really do have so much to sell and this is a start..  my house is like an Aladin's cave..  we will eventually open an ebay shop and when I've learnt enough from that I will open a site for selling my art, crafts and photos etc..

Bobby has had his hair clipped.. it looks extra shiny but he has to wear a coat when he goes out..  He was facinated by all the boxes coming down and wanted to check them out..  He could probably smell bats as I we used to have some up there, though not for a couple of years now..

I saved some of the pastry from the flan for him.. added some cheese to it and baked it in the shape of a bone..  his reward for helping and for being so cute..

They all did a great job... the attic is much clearer and cleaner... which is a huge relief for me, as my imagination was getting carried away with what was

going on up there.. Howerver, it will need another day to complete the project and we have loads of sacks, cases and boxes piled up in the garden for Andy to come and take to the dump..  Had it not been raining we could have built a bonfire for some of it.. Just hope Andy doesn't take too long...  He couldn't come yesterday but said he would do it tomorrow.. Tuesday.. which is when I have to go to London..  fingers crossed..

At the end of the day we had a cake for Sol's birthday, which was last week..  Bonny managed to bake it in between sorting bits.. She has amazing energy and always does so much.. reminds me of how I used to be.. years ago.. and I worry sometimes that she pushes herself too hard.  It was a delicious cake with fresh raspberries and cream.. A great end to a busy day..

Louisa and I played around with one of my drawings for the book.. we scanned it into the comp and attempted to work with an art application, adding colours etc.. can't

say it  was a great success, but another

step forward.. I guess.

I feel better for all the help and am as excited about Joy's driving.. it really will make a huge difference, I know she will spend more time here now that it's easier to get here.. there are no busses..

And here's one of Bobby.. forever the party animal.. enjoying a joke and a laugh..

I really loved having them all around..  Louisa is now reading 'Eat. Pray. Love'..  She is enjoying it as much as I did and we would both recomend it as  'must read'..  gripping and life enhancing stuff..

Today will be a quieter day, just need to sort myself out for London tomorrow..  I won't leave till the evening so no great rush.. no doubt I will do it all in the last half hour.. so can relax and prepare my nerves.  I am a bit anxious about it and fearing another allergic reaction.. I hear Kia has had one this time  so pleased that it was

during her last treatment and that she was able to carry on with it..  All over now kia.. so pleased you made it..  whoopie...

I haven't had any sunrises for a while again.. it has been overcast and wet all the time.. like a dull, soggy, grey, old blanket over everything.. just stays the same all day and every day..  but that will change and my usual pictures should return soon enough..   I have hit a snag, with my photos here though, as I've reached 100 inages and DS doesn't allow us to upload more than 100..  I've been having to delete some to put up new ones.. I will try asking whether I can be allowed to do more..  don't know if you don't ask...

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend.. and that the week ahead is good to you all..  I will write more, no doubt, before I go away again... Loads of love, best wishes and hugs.. xxxxxx

Is the cheese, oninon, and lentil flan one of your recipes? It sounds yummy. I am glad that you had such a nice weekend.

I sometimes like to look through cook books.. but never have the patience to follow a recipe... you can pretty much use anything for a flan filling and the trick with lentils is to cook them first to the right consistency.. they mustn't be too runny... add lots of finely chopped raw onions, pepper, ground mustard seeds, pinch of salt and grate in lots of strong flavoured cheese.. grate more cheese on top and sprinkle with paprika to make it pretty.. let it stand for half an hour after baking as it becomes firmer when it has cooled... I also added some raw chopped spinach and decorated the top with sliced zucchini, coated in olive oil, paprika and salt... that's before it goes in the oven..

Ahhh, you surely did have a good entry for all of us, especially with the photos to boot! It's a good day for me, as I have gotten the Dr. appointment over with and things in that dept. sorted out! Yippee. Bobby, is an awfully cute little guy! Love his haircut. We used to have a Bob dog and although Teddy the Airedale is a love, he will never take Bob's place, I am afraid. Hope the ebay store does well. You must tell us your ebay name so we can browse! Do you know, I am the same way with cooking...rarely have I followed a recipe. At my house the family often says, "hope you like it the first time, as it probably will be different the next!" ha ha. I love to do quiche with spinach, mushrooms, green onions and some tarragon. Not much of a lentil person but I am sure if you made it, I'd love it! ha ha. Good luck in London. Congrats on the attic clean-up and hugs to you too. lindamae
