 Horus

Dreams disturbed my sleep
I awoke before the dawn
As night in shadows steeps
The secrets to be born
Into an aching tired world
 Arose a gentle chorus
As the labours of Isis unfurled
The golden light of Horus

I gazed upon the splendour
Blazing colours crossed the skies
From beyond those fields of wonder
He gazed back into my eyes
And I heard within my poets heart
The voice of an ageless sage
Whose weary wisdom I impart
For the wont of a Godless age

 'Each day my birth bestows
Upon this spinning clod of earth
New life new breath to all that grows
New hope for all it’s worth
And of all the creatures beneath my power
Mankind is the dumbest of all
For he takes the most of every hour
To piss it up against the wall

Dumber than worms that turn the soil
Dumber than lions that bask
For only man in his mindless toil
Would undo the most perfect task'

Lots of love
