My life revolves around cats, other than that I have lots of medical issues, mostly autoimmune diseases, but fibromyalgia as well. I have been on steroids since I was fifteen, but I am always looking for those good days when I can enjoy life to its fullest, but sometimes they are few and far between. I have homes in Asheville and in Rock Hill, SC.

All those cats that have been abused or are unadoptable end up at my house. I currently have 22 indoor cats and am feeding a feral colony of about 20. I have learned to eat my meals while standing up and with cat fur in the food, all the while thinking "cat fur is fiber and fiber is good for me!" It's all in the state of mind. I also love to read anything I can get my hands on!

Sometime this year, we taxpayers may again receive an Economic Stimulus payment.
This is a very exciting new program. I will explain it using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money?
A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.
Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:
* If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China .
* If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India .
* If you purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico , Honduras and Guatemala .
* If you buy a car, it will go to Japan .
* If you purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan .
* If you pay your credit cards off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.
Instead, keep the money in America by:
1 spending it at yard sales, or
2 going to hockey/ball games, or
3 spending it on prostitutes, or
4 beer or
5 tattoos.
(These are the only American businesses still operating in the US ..)

I'm a 39 y/o female with DID (diagnosed for 20 years) who experienced childhood emotional, physical and sexual abuse as well as SRA. My system had a 10 year hibernation and has recently become active again. Looking for support from others who are dealing with the same sort of problems. It is nice to know that I am not alone in my situation.

Close Fibromyalgia
Hi, I'm a 39y/o female that has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for the past 8 years. I have many medical issues, most of them autoimmune diseases, that I am learning to deal with. I also take prednisone on a daily basis (which is never fun!) and am seeing a pain management doctor. Hope to find some friends and some coping skills while here!
Treatments
- Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
- Good for muscle relaxation and to help sleep.
- Duragesic Patch Somewhat Helpful
- Been on it 4 years, can't live without it.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- works somewhat to healp the aches.
- Neurontin Somewhat Helpful
- I take rather large doses and it seems to help.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Also somwhat helpful for trigger points.
- Ultram Somewhat Helpful
- Moderate non-narcotic, can't get through the day without it!
Open TMJ
I had TMJ symptoms since I was 14 and after many surgeries, I finally had a total joint replacement done 4 years ago. It was the best thing that ever happened to me!
Open Self-Injury
Been involved in SI since I was 13. I have been diagnosed with DID for 20 years. Right now the last SI I did was in July, but the desire is still there.

Open Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I have had UC for 20 years, but still have my colon. I'm still prone to flares, but take daily steroids to help with that. I also have many of the syndroms that go along with IBD, such as pyoderma gangrenosum and colitic arthritis

- Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful
- It did help, but I went on to other medications.
- Azulfidine Working / Worked
- Can't live without it!
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- So far, so good!
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- UGH! Been on it for over 20 years, having serious side effects, but it does work.
- Purinethol Somewhat Helpful
- Took it for several years and it did do it's job, but went on to other medicines.
- Remicade Somewhat Helpful
- Once again it was helpful, but I went on to other medications.
- Humira Working / Worked
- Working so far! It has recently been approved for use in IBD. And I like it, even though the shots hurt!
Open Chronic Pain
I have ulcerative colitis, lupus and several other autoimmune diseases. I go to pain management for medications and injections.

- Flexeril Working / Worked
- at night, helps sleep.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- once more, just makes it so you don't care about the pain.
- Methadone Working / Worked
- knocked me out.
- Morphine Working / Worked
- works fairly well, but I gain tolerance quickly.
- Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
- every few weeks and they help!
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Helps with the pins and needles.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Doesn't really help the pain, just makes it so you don't care.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Helps somewhat.
- Epidural Injection Working / Worked
- This has helped he best, by far!
Open Lupus
I've had autoimmune diseases since I was 15. I was diagnosed with lupus about 20 years ago.

- Stayed on it for 5 years.
- Cyclosporine Working / Worked
- only take it when I am in a bad flare. hate it!
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- still taking it, working so far.
