some days ur the rabbit, others ur the pancake.
finished the tulsa run 15k on Halloween Day. thought i'd PR, but started getting nauseous around the 6 mile mark from that f*cking alleged "energy bar" from Snickers. Goddamn glorified candy bar. Violated the cardinal rule of race day --do nothing new -- and paid for it. the nausea slowed me down by 8 minutes over last year's time.
Still ran a respectable (for me) 1:51. Up next, McNellie's Pub Run next weekend, then the "Big One"... Route 66 Half-marathon. Not trying for a PR this time because I now realize the time off I had this summer from the foot injury really affected my fitness level. Hey, it happens. I'm thankful that I can at least run the race. In July, I wasn't even sure if I'd be able to race at all this year.
