Visited the psychiatrist (Pdoc for short) yesterday. A new one who was recommended highly by another. Why, you ask? February was a rough month for me. Near-immobilizing depression had me in a deathgrip. My wife was very worried, as wives are wont to do.
So, not knowing what else to do, I made an appointment -- last month. It took me another 3 weeks to actually get an appointment. That was yesterday. Not much to say, though. It was merely an intake session meaning even after I completed the 4-page medical history, I spent the whole session basically rehashing what I wrote.
I'm sure it was necessary to hear my tale of woe in my own words, but at the rates Pdoc's charge can't he at least read what I wrote and ask me to fill in the details. Well, maybe that's what he did. Who knows.
At any rate, we concluded the session arriving at 3 options: 1) bump my existing dose of Cymbalta because the low incidence of known side-effects, 2) supplement it with Lamictal, or 3) switch to Lamictal altogether.
We decided on #1. Session over, see ya in 3 weeks.
