How goes life over there? Did you get through the half marathon? What terrain do you train on ? Enjoy the rest of your summer. We're working our way up to an Indian summer down here, again.

Excellent news that you did the marathon - you are so inspirational. I need to takes a leaf out of your book and get on with life - I am dwelling on the PE again (well, it is one year anniversary a week today). Maybe once I get passed that I can move on. I think I need to post a discussion as I am getting a bit in a tiss and feeling non-assertive with NHS again. Anyway, well done, you go girl. Dawn x x

That's brill news that your clot has gone. You're such an inspiration and your determination kicks any clots' butts to smitherines - if clots had butts that is!!! It goes to show that recurrent clots can be found and dealth with before they become more serious. Are you on any medication? I had my blood tested last week and it was bleeding loads - I would say more than when I was on warfarin - I could not work that out until I thought later that my cranberry, vit e and epa must be working and thinning my blood naturally - I also have more bruises (not many tho). So I think your vitamins must work and stop clots getting big. I am sure lots of people are clotting who have no idea and they eventually take care of themselves. I am really happy for you. I had a doppler done because of pain in my legs and it was all clear. wooohoooooo. x x x

    • Close Pulmonary Embolism

woke up one morning in agony, I felt like I'd been shot! I was rushed to hospital and stayed for 13 days and will go back in again next week. I don't understand how or why this happened...

      Treatments

      Coumadin Not Working
(warfarin) Started taking warfarin in hospital but it affected my liver functions so Im waiting for them to improve, remaining on clexane for now, and will go back into hospital to re-try the warfarin
      Lovenox Working / Worked
(called clexane in UK) is a bit daunting the first time you have to inject your self, but I feel proud that I managed to do it and am finding it ok.
    • Close Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

suffered from a pulmonary embolism 3 months ago which is a complication of DVT. although no DVT was found it is the same treatment and have been through similar fears as those in this community and find posts helpful here :) I would be happy to speak to any one who has questions about after care/treatment :)

      Treatments

      Coumadin Working / Worked
(called warfain in the UK) INR is now finally between 2 and 3 after more than three months!! get headaches and stuff but nothing major...
      Lovenox Working / Worked
(called clexane in UK) was on this for first 6 weeks due to complications with warfarin. was ok and i didn't bruise too much
