I hope to find people here who have gone through similar experiences and can relate to some of the same "stuff" in life. Also...Im new at this journaling thing so this should be interesting.

      From ChronicIL August 29

      Hi,
I'm on 15 mg Opana ER twice daily with norco for breakthrough pain and it is working well for me. I have many painful joints, DDD, and arthritis. I was originally diagnosed with fibro and had all the symptoms, but after receiving the correct diagnosis of vit D deficiency, 3 yrs later, those symptoms went away with vit D 4000 IU after approx 2 mo. Opana ER is working for me. What are you on now?

Have had this for a couple of years- tried alot of things and I think Im coming along well. Found an outstading DR.(key) and researched and came up with my own ideas- for what works for me (another key) and what I am comfortable with. I will just say do what works for YOU and try things- It may work, may not. Keep trying. Dont listen to anyone that gives you advise you dont want. They are not living in your shoes every day. Also if you dont like your Dr.(this happens alot yes?)then get a new one.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Considering
Too tired on it. Update- I am considering trying this one again. Update again - tried again - 12 weeks nothing. Side effects so had to go off even though it wasnt doing anything anyway. My muscles doing some weird twitching stuff especially at night- going to sleep- arm would fling out all of a sudden- ripped my earring back right off. watch out for flying punches. Also weird flashing lights when try to see in the dark. Dr. didnt like these and I didnt either. She took me off right away.
      Reiki Not Working
Umm nope, not for this or FMS.
      Zoloft Working / Worked

I have DDD - but have had back pain starting in my teens probably. Usually lower back. Now have found that if I stretch the muscles on my sides- that attach at the hips and lower ribs- (QL muscle) It helps ALOT.

      Treatments

      Acupuncture Working / Worked
Sorry to say, but didnt help me for this, too bad because I work in Acupuncture clinic and it would be very easy to get treatments on a regualr basis. I have seen incredible results though. She is the best Acupuncurist/herbalist in the area.
      Carisoprodol Considering
Have always wondered about this med-but hasnt been suggested to me.
      Cortisone (Injection) Working / Worked
No-would have to be last resort.
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
Sometimes. Ice is better right after a strain. Better yet alternate the two.
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
Yes- works for this and Fibro.
      Morphine Not Working
      Didnt care for this.
      Stretching Working / Worked
YES... yes and yes. It may be weird to some but I stretch in the shower. You can use the proper temp. ( I like cold usually) and let the water "tap" on your muscles while you stretch them. I no longer have neck pain because of this- works extremely well! The best way is to actually tilt your head and have the water hit on one side of the neck while slowly turning to middle of neck, and then the other side. carefully. Sometimes the cause of pain- is not where it hurts.
      Massage Working / Worked
I need to find a good massage therapist and be the one on the table for a change. Massage for lower back pain helps alot!
