      Seek diligently for something to be glad and thankful about in every happening and soon no search will be required. Give us a sense of humor, Lord, Give us the grace to see a joke, To get some humor out of life, And pass it on to other folk. I believe Laughter really is the best medicine and as a result I really try to keep my sense of humor active!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY, keep on smiling!!! I am a 53 yr old Mother of 4. I have my 4 kids and 9 grandkids! I like to read, play on the computer, and I used to love to go to yard sales. Can't do that anymore as I do not drive and am in a wheelchair. I like watching movies, ( I like comedies...the cornier the better. Laughing is so good for us.) I collect movies, both DVD and VHS. I have a cow collection. They are all over my house. (Not the real, mooing, four legged ones of course.) I used to draw and play the guitar. It has been years since I did either of those activities. Maybe, I'll take it up again...who knows?

      I am 52 years old. I smoked for 30 years. I quit in 2003. I was sick with a cold for 2 and 1/2 months last year and my COPD advanced from mild to moderately severe. I also have Cor Pulmonale and Sleep Apnea. Last year I lead a normal life... now everything is different.

      Treatments

      Advair Working / Worked
      Works ok.
      Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
      I have been on this med a very long time,
      Celexa Working / Worked
      for anxiety during periods of extreme breathlessness.
      Combivent Working / Worked
      works
      Duoneb Working / Worked
      I use this in a nebulizer. It works very well.
      Oxygen Working / Worked
      works good for breathing! Which i like to do! I am on 3 liters at rest, 4 liters on exertion and 5 liters at night along with my BiPap machine.
      Singulair Working / Worked
      I have been on singular for years. I definitely know if I miss a dose. I immediately begin to have asthma attacks.

    • Close Sleep Apnea

      I have asthma and copd for years. My pulmonary doc referred me for a sleep study. Sure enough my O2 levels drop to 60% when I am sleeping. I use a Bipap machine with 5 liters of oxygen connected to it nightly.

      Works awesome now. Lots of good sleep. Hate sleeping with a mask.

    • Open Heart Failure

      I developed CorPulmonale, better known as a form of CHF as a result of my COPD. I also have Sleep Apnea and Asthma and depression....Heck with all that who wouldn't be depressed!

      Potassium Working / Worked
      Helps with the cramps from the Lasix doing its job.
      Lisinopril Working / Worked
      Does what it is suppose to do.

    • Open Pulmonary Hypertension

      HI! I have COPD and Sleep Apnea which has led to Pulmonary Hypertension, which led to Cor Pulmonale/Right sided Congestive Heart Failure

      I was diagnosed with Restless Legg Syndrome when I had my Sleep Study for Sleep Apnea.

      Hi, my name is JoAnn. I have COPD, Cor Pulmonale, (right sided congestive heart failure) Bronchiectasis, Asthma, RLS, Sleep Apnea....to name the mmain diagnosis...and now I also have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. while in the hospital recently. I am in a wheel chair due to extreme respiratory problems, so am unable to be very active.
