Close Breakups & Divorce
My husband of 13 yrs (high school sweet heart) woke up one morning to say..."I'm not happy...I don't know if I want all of this"... within ten days he left me and my three kids ages 17 months, 4yrs and 8yr old with(high functioning autisim). His personality changed overnight full of hostility, tons of spending money, no care for the kids or their well being... lack of interst in all of us. Within three weeks of leaving he filed for divorce with no notice. That was nearly 6 months ago.

- You have to have two people to have a couple for couples counseling... he did not routinely show up so we discontinued it.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- yes... my own weekly therapy ... to confirm I am not loosing my mind.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- yes... a divorce support group.
Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
I have a 7 1/2 yr old son who has high functioning autism/asperger's like characteristics. He is doing well attends a non-public school. He is doing well but is a challenge. He was recently officially diagnosed in Jan. I am a single mother of three kids...his father left 2 weeks after we received funding from the school district for his new school.

- very effective... he receives it at school and it is reinforced at home.
- Concerta Working / Worked
- thank god for this drug!!! it gives him physical balance, reduces his classical autistic behaviors, stimming, perseverating etc. it is the difference between night and day.
- Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
- yes, effective... has had it since age 4 ... currently receives it at school.
- Picture / Word Schedules Working / Worked
- Yes... I'm planning starting a business creating catered ones for families to use, as well as positive reinforcement charts, organization, creating structure in the home, and consulting for families that need help implementing structure and schedules for their kids in their home.
Open Single Parenting
newly single mother of three... ages 7 1/2 (high functioning autisim) 4yrs and 17 months... their dad walked out 13 yrs of marriage emotionally disconnected from the kids and rarely sees them.
Open Asperger Syndrome
my 7 1/2 yr old son was recently diagnosed with high functioning autism with asperger's syndrome characteristics... would have the AS diagnosis but was speech delayed... he is in a non-public school for aspie kids ... doing well... I'm new to the group. Newly single mother of three... his dad left two weeks after we got the funding for the non-public school from the school district.

- Love this drug... makes the world of difference for him... gives him physical balance, stops perseverating, and reduces most of his classical autisitc behaviors.
Open Breast Cancer
Just diagnosed last Friday... found a lump in my left breast on Dec. 16th... ended up being two of them. I'm 37 yrs old single mother of three beautiful children ages 8, 4, and 20 months... my husband left me and filed for divorce in April of this past year...as though I didn't have enough to deal with...waiting results of genetic testing and will be scheduling masectomy in the next several weeks.

divorce is still not finalized after a year. after I was diagnosed with cancer, my ex quit his job and stopped paying all support including our health insurance that was six months ago. looking for emotional support
