Support Groups
Close Breakups & Divorce
My wife of 14 years left me about a year ago to "Find herself". After 4-5 boyfriends apparently she is still looking. I am trying to put the past behind me and move on.
Treatments
- Forgiveness Not Working
- I don't know if I can ever forgive her. I feel like she used me for her own needs for the last 14 years.
- Pets Somewhat Helpful
- I spend time playing fetch with my two dogs. It helps take my mind off of things, but only for a while.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I went for a while. It helped me reflect on the marriage and what I could have done differently. Also helped me better understand myself and what I need from a partner.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- My family has been there for me, but I think it is hard for them to relate to what I am going through.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- This support group and people I have met on here in particular has helped me through some rough times.
- Talking Not Working
- There is really no point in talking to her anymore. I said and did everything I could, but she did not want to hear me.
- Time Too Soon to Tell
- She has been gone for a year and it still bothers me some times. I feel like I should be over it by now, but it still hurts occasionally.
Close Depression
I was recently diagnosed with depression. Both my parents have it as well as my sister.
Treatments
- Prozac Too Soon to Tell
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I feel a little better after each session, but it does not last long.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- My family is supportive and worries about me, but I do not really have many friends in this area and the ones I thought were proved otherwise after my seperation from my wife.
Open Life After Divorce
I have been seperated for over a year. My divorce has been final since 12/2/08. I am trying to pick myself up and start living again.
