About Me
Suffering deeply with Rapid Cycling bipolar mix, aniety disorder, severe depression and post traumatic stress disorder - cannot afford therapy right now so looking for some online support. I'm better talking to folks without having to look at someone face-to-face. I feel less judged. I have a wonderful husband of 23 years and thank God he loves me so - we are each others best friend. He is dealing with his own issue, both physical and mental, from his time in Vietnam but we take turns being the strong one so that neither of us become too overwhelmed.

Interests
I love to read, am trying to teach my self how to create "tags" using Paint Shop Pro 9, knitting, crocheting, traveling with just my husband and me. Having fun with my doggies (my only children). LOL

Close Bipolar Disorder
Was diagnosed as bipolar mix, severe panic/anxiety disorder with PTSD Dec 12, 2006. I've had most of my life just never diagnosed until 2006. Somedays hopeful, some days can't get out of bed - but NOT GIVING UP!
Treatments
- Ativan Somewhat Helpful
- Lorazepam was somewhat helpful but still not part of the coctail needed to find balance
- Celexa Somewhat Helpful
- Quit working after a few months
- Group Therapy Not Working
- Mixed with recovering acholics/addicts and they get most of the talk time
- Seroquel Not Working
- Hospital psych doc, I didn't even know, decided to switch me to Wellbutrin instead
- Trileptal Working / Worked
- Great to help be get to sleep
- Wellbutrin Too Soon to Tell
- Seems to be decreasing my apetite - so losing weight - still having major cycling
- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- I've been on it since December but have been having several of the side effects and am going to talk to psych doc about changing
Close Panic Attacks
In 2006 I was diagnosed as having severe panic/anxiety disorder, Cycling Bipolar, and PTSD - still trying to find the right combination of meds to find more balance in my live.
Treatments
- BuSpar Working / Worked
- Another one that worked for a few months and then the depression became worse again.
- Effexor Not Working
- Worked for a couple of months but not anymore
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- I've had the most success with this med. I, too, suffer SEVERE PANIC ATTACKS that seem to come out of no where.
- Paxil Working / Worked
- Another that worked for a while but quit working after reaching highest dose recommended be prescribed.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I entered a group therapy recommended by my psychiatrist. I got nothing out of it as out of 12 three hours sessions I was addressed once for 30 minutes. Not an option in my mind but don't think it couldn't work for you. I was just out the time and another $1,000 after the program ended.
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- Worked for about 6 months and added 40 lbs because of severe food cravings while on it
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- Again worked for about a year and things just got worse.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- But keep needing a higher dose and finally reached the highest dose my psych doc would prescribe so switched to Clonazepam 1 mg 3 times a day
- Zoloft Working / Worked
- Was used to treat for depression only (I hadn't been diagnosed as Mix Bipolar)so after about a year my primary doc moved me onto another depression medicine
Open Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
I've recently admitted I have OCD. I am a horder of all material things. I buy things I really don't need and I know the spending plays into my having Cycling Bipolar, severe panic/anxiety attacks and PTSD.
