I’m With You
Good to see you here again! Thank you for your positive response in the widows group. We all need to remember that there is something good if you take time to look for it. And, you are right, it's hard to see what's up when your heads turned to the ground. Loving hugs, Sharon

Close Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Been through multipal traumas and losses. Trying to deal with my latest revealed trauma and can't talk about it. I know I need to from my experience with talking about my other traumas but.... I have also had a recent accident which clouds my mind.
Treatments
- Art Working / Worked
- When I can concentrate on anything there is some relief in creativity.
- Music Working / Worked
- My friends have helped me in this area. I play around with instruments and getting me into a music mode helped though it didn't take it away.
- Reading Working / Worked
- If I can concentrate it does wonders to transport me to a better place or into someone elses problems, lol. But it does work.
- Talking Working / Worked
- I am understanding that as hard as talking can be it is starting to work. I need to feel I am in a safe environment before I can talk.
- Thought Field Therapy (TFT) Working / Worked
- It is a tough road but I believe that TFT is the least intrusive effective therapy. I can use it on my own but if I am overwhelmed by flashbacks I can call my therapist and he can help to direct where I need to put my energies.
- Zoloft Not Working
- I felt it didn't work.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionTreatments
- Meditation Somewhat Helpful
- Sometimes it works sometimes not.
- Prozac Not Working
- did not work!!!
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- The best help has been my therapist with Thought Focus Therapy.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Always a help but not in the wee hours in the morning.
- Writing Somewhat Helpful
- Trying, but .....
- Zoloft Not Working
- I do not feel it worked.
Open Chronic Pain
Some of the traumas in my life cause chronic pain. I have been through a lot of meds and the like. A recent accident is NOT helping.
Treatments
- Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
- It can sometimes help me to mentally work past the pain to get some sleep.
- Acupressure Working / Worked
- Sometimes, accupuncture helped more but it is no longer in my area.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- At one time it worked but now I find that it is more painful, and that pain doesn't subside.
- Flexeril Not Working
- No help!!
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Sometimes yes and sometimes no.
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- It worked at first, but no more.
- Lidoderm Working / Worked
- It can work at times but other times it just itches. If I ware the max I will usually get relief.
- Meditation Somewhat Helpful
- Always trying.
- Naproxen Not Working
- For the most part this is a no go.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- I am now getting Cranial Sacrial Therapy which my PT does. He deals with body trauma and that includes talking about the trauma, though that is difficult for me I am finding out that it does help and I can go from a pain level of 8 to a pain level of 2 in one session, no drugs. But it doesn't work that good all times. But it will always lower the pain level some.
- TENS Not Working
- It worked for a while but not any more.
Open Bereavement
Too many losses this year. Kids don't understand, Uncle Bob, Sydnee, and Forest. All a month apart. Uncle Bob had cancer, Sydnee an 8 year old and a friend of my daughter was in a car wreck. And though Forrest was a cat his death hit hard after Uncle Bob and Sydnee.
Treatments
- Crying Working / Worked
- We have cried together as a family.
- Keeping Busy Working / Worked
- Music Working / Worked
- Music always seems to help our family.
- Prayer Working / Worked
- Remembering Working / Worked
- My 8 year old has Sydnee's clothes and sometimes says she feels closer to her when she wears her clothes. My older one talks about both at different times and, she knew Uncle Bob longer and on was an older sister pest to the girls.
- Talking Working / Worked
- At first both girls didn't want to talk about any of the deaths because they were so close in time, but then it came in a burst. The anger and remembering.
Open Widows & Widowers
My loss happened a looooong time ago. But still..... I lost my love twice and joined a grief support group, they told me they would rather have happened to them then what happened to me. At least my experience helped someone. My husband was hit in the head with a state transportation snow plow. Was in a coma for two weeks. He regained all his ADL skills but had global aphasia (20% communication). His body died in 2001.
Treatments
- Grief Counseling Considering
- depends how much I am in the pits weather it works or not.
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- depends how much I am in the pits again, weather it works or not.
