Journal Entry for October 7, 2008 Mood
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 | A General Update story

I talked with my sister last night. My other sister has two lumps in her breast. She's 47, and our mother died when she was 47. She said to me last year that if she made it through this year, then she'd be okay. The worst thing is that she doesn't have insurance. Her h left years ago and has never sent a cent to them for child support. We've helped her for years, given her two cars, and thousands of dollars in the past ten years. She let her insurance go so that she could qualify her kids for medicaid. My other sister said she was going to go to a clinic to get a free MRI, because it's breast cancer awareness month. My other sister and I have cystic breasts, but not this siter, so for her to find a lump is a huge concern.

I decided not to go to my niece's wedding. I really don't want a repeat of what happened at the graduations last year. That was so awful. I know where my brother stands with me, and I was very unhappy about how my sister handled the situation too. I imagine it will put everyone at ease if I'm not there.

Didn't sleep very well last night. Woke up at 4:30.

  1. Hi!

Hey Amy! Since your sister's kids qualify for medicaid, isn't she also qualified for medicaid? That's a horrible story, by the way. I'm really sorry for her situation.

    Hi!
