balmy and drizzling, slow and nothing day Mood
Saturday, November 7, 2009 | A Rambling story

pretty balmy tonight, big surprise, and there is a light drizzle, which we discovered the hard way when we walked the dock by the marina.  a decided to keep me company, which was nice, as its been pretty lonely around here lately.  lol.  k called and he is totally sloshed on johnney walker red.  he says he tried to light a fire, in the firepit in the yard,  but it kept going out and i said to him, didn't you notice that it is drizzling?  lol.  i'm wearing a light jacket and long sleeves, but its not quite necessary.  the heat didn't kick on up here when i first got back, so i am sitting by the toaster oven and have it turned up to broil with the toaster oven door open to take the bite out of the air.  lol.

nothing much going on.  we were discussing sy's boyfriend's troubles with his 3 daughters controlling him while in the hospital and j came up with about a zillion stories of things like that and worse with his own relatives (all of whom j avoids totally).  many people are so vulture-ish if money is involved, i guess even more so if they are related to you, so they believe there is a real chance of getting it.  i think the reason sy refused to marry her boyfriend, is because she knew how bad his daughters are and didn't want a legal connection with them, didn't trust them, that it had nothing to do with her boyfriend.  she's been living with him for four years.  and i also think that one of the reasons he wanted to marry sy so badly is because being married to her would have protected him from the daughters.  another way for both of them would be to LEAVE florida and simply drop all contact with the daughters.  why live in fear?  jf's girlfriend krn does that with her sons, only the youngest one of them has her address.  she hides from the two older sons.  you'd never expect krn to have troubles like that because their house and everything is totally normal...

with the client that can't be done for his loan because he was busted for embezzling ALL of his aunt's money after she gave him power of attorney, while she was in a nursing home.  the only way to save that, would have been to take the aunt OUT of the nursing home and take care of her himself, and then have the aunt do a reverse mortgage on her house to regain the cash and pay off the nursing home with that, or simply be billed/have the nursing home put a lien on the house etc.  i wouldn't have wanted to be involved in that anyway.  but there are plenty of brokers who are vultures themselves who would do it and then if it got too hairy, they'd just leave the state.  he still hasn't explained why he stole from her and says he has no idea where the money is????  i still haven't reached brt or rm, and its giving me a stomach ache.  brt can probably finally do another refi if he really wants to as his value finally went up again.

nothing else happening.  spent the morning skimming through parts of "after the reunion" in the spare room.  it was too noisy and smelly from the pump across the street, to read on the deck.  took care of all the animals and then left for up north.  its so boring up here this year.  there are about 3 boats docked in the canal, not including the little ones.  and though the marina is full of docked yachts, they rarely go out.  yesterday there was a very large, appeared to be a hatteras multi level yacht out in the canal, easily 70 foot, but that is very rare, even when times were better.  hoping to remember to pick up boxes tonight to pack more stuff for charity and return adoption calls.  if some of these loans don't close soon, i have no idea what i am going to do.  even if i am paid by everyone who owes me...well, if that happened, i guess i would be okay depending on how long this recession lasts.

its sickening when people owe you money, i feel like, well, hope you are enjoying living on my money, my house, my car, sending your kid to school with my dough, practicing your profession and running your office with my money and rot in hell you pieces of shit...  paul may be right about the texas thing or something similar to it.

So Texas is good, I am happy to hear that there is somewhere...Wow, I mean is it windy by you today, we have a wind alert here. I think everyone, even people who have money are really concerned over our economy and how much they have lost. We know how to cut back and live, they have no idea in the world what to do...so we are the lucky ones....just keep trying to stay positive...I know we have people who owe us money for years but never will see a penny of it I am sure. That is life....and you also see who really is your friends...

Good luck on the packing for charity....have a super day.

    Love U

yeah, we had an uber-rich client in a nyc lawfirm who lost almost everything twenty years ago. he was SOBBING. he ended up reopening everything he already had, but in south america, not here. and sold his house in new york city and bought an apartment building/co-op instead. he lived just as well, but with much less of the headache because the co-op is community property. i think it changed him permanently, but its like you are saying, he totally panicked and had someone not reguided him i think he would have killed himself or needed to be institutionalized. he was that messed up from it.

if people owe smaller sums or owe it to a business where there is insurance, that isn't as bad, but when its salary or anything large, and all of this is huge and its personal. its not forgiveable at all. its just plain evil. to me, that kind of multiple theft is equal to multiple crime by force. they claim theft is the root of all other crime. i think it is too. it makes people so angry they end up killing the person who robbed them and on and on and on. it ignites the rest of it.

hey leeann i forgot you had gone through some of that being swindled yourself. not just with business, that is always expected when you have stores (unfortunately), but from your sister wasn't it? you would have enjoyed yesterdays rant about "families" lol. j just sat there going down a list of his bad family members. lol. i think he has done everything possible to make sure there is no connection between himself and relatives because of it, including living thousand miles away or more.

I hope you get paid for the loans/work you did.Times are hard now,but still no excuse to not honor what you owe.Have you ever watched a program, its on right after House, called Lie To Me? Its good.I watched it on Hula. You need a guy like that.He could tell you if the people you were doing the loan for were being honest.
Where you live by the ocean sounds so nice and quiet.
Awful about the aunt in the nursing home and what happened with her money.

if the loans don't fund, no one gets paid. that's how it works. the customer won't get their refi or reverse and the people working on the loan won't get skwat either. the only other way is to work inside a retail bank and the pay is supposed to be crappy and lots of hours. if i were going to work indoors, i'd go back to working for lawyers or even better back to the arts full time. arts high level pays the best, but its dangerous because of lunatics. large lawfirms in big cities also pay very well and real time reporting is also six figures (so i'd work part time instead and make half that. lol. life is for living.) my friend told me washington d.c. which used to be six figures for reporting same as federal full time back in the 80's, actually pays around 200,000 per year now full time. very tempting, except its so friggin cold in d.c. and its such high stress work. the amounts are all meaningless anyway. the areas that pay that, will have real estate or rents that are through the roof. on and on, its all relative and you don't want your job, life style or house to ever OWN you. then you become a slave to it, instead of living and exploring and having fun. travel really needs to become a priority again.

DC is really expensive. My yb went for an interview there and started pricing houses. Ouch. Yep, I'd rather travel LOL ... it is too, too bad when people rip you off but then it's time to re-prioritize. If I thought about it or added it up I would get angry so I try to think, well, it happened - maybe for a reason? when I was young, so that I would be more jaded when I got older, and plus, I had time to earn back what I lost.
