I cant find her poem the tower written shortly before this...shes often associated with Dadaism too as well as surrealism but this seems to negate that hearitage. Its my favourite piece painted right before she commmitted suicide in honour of her husband Yves Tanguy who had died 9 years previous. She spent the rest of her life a recluse with a broken heart her poetry no longer surreal but bitter and ironic defending her husbands work against the classics. The Tower represents that but....I MUST bring that book back lol
