    • About Me

My husband and I found out we were pregnant after the first month we started trying in June of 2007. It just felt like magic - it worked the first time, and I loved being pregnant. At our second doctor's appointment at 12 weeks, they were unable to find a heartbeat, and an u/s confirmed that our baby had passed away. I had a D&C on August 28th. I found out on Feb. 24th that I was pregnant again. At my 10 week appointment on April 8th, we found out that we had another missed m/c, followed by another D&C on the 9th. On August 8th we got our third positive pregnancy test!

I just wondered if maybe teething was taking him even more off schedule. I think all little ones are "rough around the edges" by bedtime. Natalie will totally surprise me -- days that she naps great, even extra, she'll sometimes fall apart way before bedtime, and days that she has horrible naps she will be stoic and make it through bedtime without any fuss. It's just luck of the draw!

Sorry you're still having napping issues! Natalie was doing great but since last Saturday she's been doing 45 minutes in the AM (when she usually does 1 1/2 -2 1/2 hours) and two shorter 30 minute naps in the PM. Yesterday she slept 1 1/2 hours and it was magical :) I wish I had words of wisdom for you. All I can say is pick what feels like it works the most consistently -- and what you can live with -- and stick to it. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. I've worked really hard at being OK with the fact that she won't ALWAYS nap the way I'd like her to. Is it possible Jonah is teething? Our ped. said that can mess with nap schedules. Anyway, hang in there and I hope things get better soon!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Jonah transitions to longer naps on his own soon enough. I'm feeling ok. Definitely been a lot more nauseous this pregnancy. I pretty much felt great when I was pregnant with Eliza so it's been quite the change, but just rolling with it. Hopefully, in another 2 weeks when I'm through the first trimester, I'll begin to feel more like myself.

We started just getting more consistent about our nap routine. Did similar things to what we did at night. However, I really just think as she got older and transitioned to 1 nap a day, she made most of the change on her own. I wasn't a big fan of cry it out though we did do a little of that if she wasn't really crying, but more wining. I do think it's important for a child to learn to settle themself at night so if I knew she really didn't need anything, we would let her wimper a bit. As for nightime at 7 months, Eliza slept 11-12 hours too and got up for 1 feeding so sounds like Jonah is doing great at night. Like you said (and I agree) some kids just aren't great nappers.

Thanks! Yes, Eliza was a short napper at that point. Anywhere from 30 - 45 mins 3 times a day. She actually just started napping for an hour to an hour and a half once a day about a month ago. Always slept well at night, but didn't like to nap.

I had a missed m/c in August 2007 at 12 weeks. My husband and I have been married for 6 years, and this was my first pregnancy. I had a second missed m/c and D&C on April 9th at 10 weeks. We got a third positive test on August 8th!
